8.3 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 1.8 apg in 19.6 minutes

Incoming

Luke Ridnour
6-2 PG from Oregon
11.8 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 6.7 apg in 34.4 minutes

Reggie Evans
6-8 PF from Iowa
6.3 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 0.6 apg in 20.3 minutes
Change in team outlook: -5.8 ppg, +2.9 rpg, and -0.1 apg.

Successful Scenario
Trade ID# 2948090

You don't really sacrifice any youth in this trade (other than taking on Fortson's filler contract)... This trade would give the Knicks 2 young, athletic 7 footers at C, & would give LB the pass first PG he's been coveting in Ridnour along w/the tough rebounder in Evans to take some load off Curry's shoulders...
It gives SEA 4 young players in Craw, Nate, Ariza & Lee who would do well in an uptempo style game (along w/their newest acquisition Wilcox)

Trade #2:

New York Trade Breakdown

Anfernee Hardaway
6-7 SG from Memphis

Change in team outlook: +19.5 ppg, +6.1 rpg, and +3.0 apg.

Successful Scenario

End result:

added bonus: 3 guys who can bring the ball up against pressure in Marbury, Ridnour & Jalen - just what LB's been asking for

you know what a big problem is on any trade? I really do not want to trade Lee, but if Im another team, the only things i like are Frye lee Curry or the ending contract. I could care less about the rest of the roster. So UNFORTUNATELY, we get stuck putting lee into the equation by default.

we need to get rid of craw or Q wishfully thinking BOTH.

Im going to go against the grain here and believe we should get younger. Going younger is a DIRECTION. The correct direction is accumulating players who have SIZE IQ athletiscm fundamentals.

We may have to ELIMINATE two younger players nate and Ariza--two guys who do have a certain value--possibly try to pair them with picks and some of the guys we want out and do deals that way--addition by subtraction.

To say this will be fixed by next year is crazy--but I think the fans will APPRECIATE and be PATIENT IF there is clear message that we have direction.

fcking around wit this vet-for vet sht hasnt worked getting frye and lee out of this draft is a quality step for the franchise.

Id like to keep Frye Lee and Curry--unless a freak deal came our way

Id be open to trading Marbury

we need a flush and fill we need direction

we dont need theo ratliffs et al. we have to admit some mistakes and get on the same page. Larry Brown and isiah are both terrible BSers.

The correct direction is accumulating players who have SIZE IQ athletiscm fundamentals.

that's pretty much the guiding premise behind my idea, since we do get size, more IQ & fundamentals.

& i agree w/u, i hate having to give up Lee, but if it's a trade that works for us in terms of getting us young, talented players that fit into what LB is looking for, then i'll do it... as you know, u have to give something good to get something good in the NBA.

i don't know if it's a good thing or not but having lb here now gives us TWO people looking at deals. so if isiah has an itchy trigger finger, or vise versa, there's another voice that will give their opinion. it's not a one man show. only time will tell if that's good or not.

secondly, rod thorn was on the radio today and they asked him about the knicks situation. he said when you're SO FAR over the cap, you have these bad contracts that are tough to move so more often than not, you're able to make moves but usually they're lateral. and so far, that's been the case.

Yea, we don't need lateral moves. We fans may be impatient, but the Knicks management is way more impatient than we are. I think most fans want to keep the rookies and see what they can do, and generally pursue the youth movement. I would love to see the Knicks just let a contract expire for once.

I like this draft. I think Isiah can score in this draft. If I could have 3-4 picks I would gladly take them.

get rid of some of the young players that dont fit---i.e nate ariza get rid of one of these gosh darn guards and let the team build.

This whole thing with getting LB was a disaster--Isiah thought he had a 45 win team and that wasnt the case---now were stuck with a guy who really doesnt want to grow with th etema --he wanst to win now--but ultimately we wont do it with a starphuck

if that takes getting rid of lB--paying him for next year and asking him to move on--thats that--bring in a young guy who will play the ytoung guys and get them to play with heart. we dont need to pay a coach 10mm right now---you only pay that for a closer--we are in stage 1
go hire ewing to coach

Also, if you keep trading guys, and keep letting them think they're about to be traded, how can you develop any chemistry? Weren't we playing well when Marbury was healthy? Can't we assume that we'll play better when he returns? I just don't see any of the moves that the Knicks can do making us any better.

if it's a youth movement you want, Ridnour, Evans & Petro are all under 25 yrs old... & both KMart & Watson are alot younger than Penny... these trades don't sacrifice youth at all.

if u want to build up through the draft, that's fine... but LB wasn't brought here to waste time for the next 5 years while this team languishes in the basement of the Eastern Conference... he was brought here to teach the young kids we already had how to play winning basketball, & get the rest of the team playing together w/solid team defense so they could start to contend in the next year or so.
