according to large sports news outlet:

WHO------------------INTERESTED

Anfernee Hardaway----1>Nuggets?
----------------------2>Lakers?
----------------------3>Timberwolves?
----------------------4>Magic?
----------------------5>Trail Blazers?
----------------------6>SuperSonics?

THE SKINNY

Lakers, Wolves In the Mix For Penny?
Feb 14 - The New York Post reported Sunday that Denver, Orlando, Portland and Seattle were interested in trading for Penny Hardway and his $14.7 million expiring contract. On Monday a league executive who spoke with Isiah Thomas told the newspaper that a fifth team is slowly emerging and could be the Timberwolves or Lakers. According to the newspaper, the Knicks and Lakers were discussing a deal of Hardaway for Lamar Odom, but the Lakers wanted Channing Frye and the Knicks rejected it. Reportedly, Thomas would have gone for it had the Lakers added rookie center Andrew Bynum.

In related news ...

Isiah Thomas is willing to take on Kenyon Martin, but not if it means giving up Channing Frye, reports the New York Daily News. A league source told the newspaper that the Knicks have offered Penny Hardaway to Denver, but won't trade Frye.

The New York Daily News also reports that Denver is working on several deals, including a trade for Orlando's Steve Francis. In order to get Francis, the Nuggets want to rid themselves of Martin's contract.

According to Newsday, the Knicks are still trying to find a way to get point guard Earl Watson from the Nuggets.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So maybe this can be ... the track a Penny ... don't let the door hit your ass on the way out thread.

Six Teams wanting cap-relief. At least we have some type of leverage... I'd wait for teams to start improving their offers. $15 million...in cap relief is no small chunk. Capwise, That's the difference between Chris Bosh and Desanga Diop.

Redeem yourself Isiah.. Picks and some youngish talent (that fits!) please.
We can take a bad contract for two to three years without damaging our "enviable" position.

I'm glad to see that Isiah is reluctant to part with Frye in these kinds of deals.
https:// It's not so hard.

hopefully Lee and Nate too. Really, we could be the difference in a team like the Lakers and Wolves making a run while Garnett and Kobi are able.
We shouldn't have to part with any of our rookies.

out of all the players on the knicks radar: Odom, Martin, Francis, Watson, Evans, Fortson etc,............Odom is the one guy who I would love to get.

He's exactly what Brown wants. Brown said he wants a Sf/who could also play some Pf. Well, Odom can play at least 4 positions and would add another desperately needed playmaker to this team. Notice how Curry's performance has dropped since Marbury has been out. He's the only one who could penetrate the lane, draw the defenders and dish to Curry for easy dunks and layups. Odom is another playmaker who could create opportunites for Curry and the rest.

i'd rather have Al Harrington than Odom.

Me too.. but Atlanta refused to give him up for Artest. So I don't think they are dealing him.

yeah, we'd probably have to give up Frye to get him.
