Just read that Gooden is on Isiah's wish list. The article also said there was a deal on the table involving Kurt for Gooden but Cavs backed out.

Not a big Gooden fan although he is a good rebounder averaging 9rbs a game and he runs the floor pretty well. He's better than Evans plus I think he's in the last yr of his contract. With Hughes out for the rest of the yr, Cavs may be in the market for a 2g. I don't know if Cavs would take Q1 but what do you guys think of this deal:

Q1 for Gooden. Obviously, others may be included for salary purposes but at least we'd get out from Q1's salary.

Why? Why can't we just let Frye and Lee develop?

Well with Gooden, we could let him walk in the summer, however if we get Kmart, we'll be stuck with him for yrs.

bigbeast, the Knicks don't let players walk. It's BAD, but they don't. I've been argueing with Bonn about that for about a year now, that they should, but it's evident that while Isiah AND Dolan are in control, it's just not gonna happen. Therefore, if we trade for Gooden, I have no doubt we'll be resigning him for big money over the Summer.

Gooden blows & all his former teams know it. Furthermore, the lobsided headband & the # 90 make it look like he's got less game than he actually does.

Gooden would be a good compliment to Curry, I don't know how anyone could argue that. He rebounds well and is a decent scorer, why not?

we already have a guy named Channing Frye who's every bit as good as Gooden, if not better... plus he's younger & cheaper... why do we need Gooden again? he's not even a good defender.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Don't get me wrong. Gooden is a good player, but what's the purpose of getting Gooden. So we can get an extra 3 boards a game. BTW, rebounds are actually one of our stronger suits. We aren't going anywhere this year, so why screw with our "Cornerstones" by bringing in Gooden. LB just said Frye and Curry are our franchise. So why bring in another pf who should start. No reason.

if we bring in drew than LB should just bench mo, its not like frye starts now or anything. I wouldnt be opposed to getting drew, but we dont really have the assets to get him anyway.

Not really. I have ZERO problem with letting players walk *IF* the goal is to get under the cap. I just don't want to let a guy walk with the goal of being $60 mil instead of $70 mil over the cap.
