curry + q1 + denver's #1

for

odom + bynum

la la recreates the triangle with kobe + curry with q1 waiting for the 3's.

do you think LA would do this?

it sucks... but i'd give them Curry, Frye, Nate, Ariza & Lee for Kobe though.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

They'd only make that deal if they recognized that Bynum doesn't have it. Everyone in the league knows Curry's limitations - why would LA take him unless they thought Bynum was a bust? And throrw in Odom???? And take an underperforming Q1 with a bad back????

phil's under contract for 2 more years. kobe is at his peak. the 2007 big men in the free agency market are signed(yao, amare). they're targeting bosh and keeping tabs on kg.

i think curry works with kobe. and i think q1 fits into the triangle easy. (bad back is why i threw in the #1).

by the time bynum is ready, kobe will be 31 with 13-14 years on him. that's tough, no?

why do we do it? frye/bynum (which is what isiah was shooting for on draft night last year) and a ball handler and rebounder in odom helps.

I like this trade and I think it helps both teams. More for our future than anything else. I would change the 1st RD pick to SA pick though.

btw, if you're asking "why would you swap curry for bynum?" - then watch the 4th quarter of the lakers/knicks game. curry had no clue how to stop bynum from posting him up. (not to mention him bumping shaq after he spun and dunked in the laker/heat game)

I would do Curry for Bynum George and a pick. That sentiment is right, kobe is in his prime. Its going to take bynum 2 more years, but i would do it because this thing wont be healed for ATLEAST 2+ years. I think its likely we cough up 2 high lottery picks for Curry. While Bynum has some risk to his upside since he hasnt hit that level--although he has shown great signs for what he is--Curry has risk in terms of his health weight and mentality. I would say right now that Bynum is much smarter and mentally tougher even though he should be a senior in hS.

Freshman in college. Briggs, the only times I've seen Bynum was in garbage minutes while he was on the Lakers, but when you talk about him, it seems like he could be a superstar 4 years down the road. Is Larry going to be patient enough? If so, then I'm willing to do this trade. I like Curry, but his mentality seems to be real soft at times.

difference between Curry and Bynum: Curry is double/triple-teamed every night and learning how to deal with it. Bynum sees single coverage in garbage time.

Bynum is a different type of player and he's 5 years younger than Curry. Bynum is more along the line s of fundamental player, shot blcking/rebounding/ old school post play vs the power post play and nothing else for Curry. Of course Bynum looks stupid compared to Curry in a sense right now, but that wont stay that way. Bynum will be physically imposing to Curry soon. he already showed what his length could do to Curry, it had him sent to the bench.

Briggs, before, I would of said you were nuts, but I am kind of leaning your way now. Bynum may not be the athlete curry is, but mentally the kid seems like he soaks up coaching and uses it on the court, I watch his habbits, they are good, he holds the ball above his head, he is attentive, he doesn't seem to rush. Curry is a mental mish mosh, curry runs down the court and just steamrolls the guy and gets called for a foul, two plays later he goes down and does the same exact thing and then has this expression on his face like WTF did I do. what a friggin moron...

Its not going to happen anyway. what we can focus on is getting a smart back up to Curry and I think that kid Aaron Gray from Pitt is one heckuva prospect, truly a monster. Im almost inclined to say that i would identify 5 or so players and try to move both picks UP if Denver stays in the money and just get 1 guy out of the draft that I really need or want. I want Rudy gay, but w arent getting him.

yup, and they've all been completely healthy all season and they've all played so much together before and it's been really just a stupendous job by our hall of fame coach.

Please Please do this deal Isiah. I know you can hear me. Try to take out the pick, but if you can't, that's ok too.

So true. Its funny how some people can tell how inteligent and mentally tough a rookie is by observing him in his occasional garbage time cameos.
