Instead of Jerome James, some combo of Earl Watson, Charlie Bell, Desagna Diop. Also, had we offered James 3 years at the mid-level, we'd obviously be better off.

Instead of Little Nate, wouldn't Jarrett Jack, Francisco Garcia or Luther Head have been a better choice.

some peeps thought we were overreacting when we voiced our complete & utter disgust at 5 years & $30 million.

as for Nate, i had no problem w/that pick... i thought he had a bigger upside than Jack... the jury's still out, but Jack would fit into the team's current needs alot more right now, no doubt about that.

I still think signing Eddy Curry ruined any chance that James could put together a decent season--he was signed under the impression that he would be starting center for the Knicks--then he finds out he will be getting backup minutes and is not in the team's future. I'm not saying he would be playing much better, but I have to think he would have come into camp more motivated.

Jerome James is one of the dumbest ball players I have ever seen. For Isaih to say he is markedly better than Stephen Hunter or Diop or any of the 14 seven footers Dallas suited up last night is beyond me.

I also do not understand that the notion that we got Curry ruined him. What exactly is the point here, he was so distraught, that he started dogging it. Truth of the matter is that he was out of shape before Curry got here.

Big Snacks has a very fragile ego, I wouldn't be surprised if Knight was right. He was told he was going to start here and he came in to camp after the Curry deal knowing he couldn't.

That said, I hated the move and wanted Stephen Hunter and James Jones.

that whole Eddy Curry thing is just an excuse... purple has it right... James was out of shape regardless... & what kind of reflection is it on a guy's work ethic anyway to let himself go after he finds out he'll have competition for playing time? the guy's just a Big Turd... that pretty much covers it to a tee.

And its not like Jerome couldn't have beat curry out for the starting spot given the problems currys' had. I mean, if AD & Malik get time over Frye & Lee, a somewhat motivated, smart, hard working Jerome James would likely get more minutes than fat, out of shape, dumber than sin Eddy Curry is getting.

I want to say I was ok with the JJ's signing- I can accept this season being a waste for him. But, if he doesn't show up next year, just suspend him or, since the union will complain, DNP him at spot 15 and let him work out like Penny did- in another state.

i didn't want Diop either for that matter, OR Steven Hunter... i wanted Dan Gadzuric... i also didn't mind Chris Anderson, but that obviously didn't work out well for NO.

Dan Gadzuric wasnt going to happen for the MLE because of Bird rights, but Id be happy to take him off of Milwaukee's hands in a swap. Instead of pumping all of our cheda into Curry, we couldve formulated a basketball team that was based on guards and forwards a shot blocker and one scoring big.

Curry was brought in to start over James no matter what!! I can understand how James felt after he heard that they got Curry....that doesn't excuse him from coming in out of shape. You don't sign Curry to that kind of money to come in and be a backup. James doesn't have Curry's upside and he's probably honest enough with himself to think so. We all know that if they'd known that they would get Curry, they probably wouldn't have signed James....at least not at 30 mil. I still think James can be a good player, they have to involve him more in the offense when he's in there.....it's like being chosen to play street ball and you're the new guy, they will not include you in the offense so you end up just running up and down the court with little purpose.......that's effects you....even if you're making millions. Some centers are ok with just playing defense and not being offensively involved.......heck even Ben Wallace expressed dismay with not being more of an offensive option last year.
