The Knicks and Lakers were discussing a deal of Hardaway for Odom, but Los Angeles was hellbent on having Channing Frye included, and the Knicks rejected it. Word out of L.A. is Thomas would have gone for it had the Lakers added rookie center Andrew Bynum.

yeah, only difference is there's a guy named Odom who's also involved in that deal.

Well not that I'm a big Odom but I'll take him, like Jalen another good stop gap/tradeable player. better than having only Bynum

No Way are we getting Odom & Bynum! Would love to see it but it aint happening If we don't give up Frye, theres no way were Odom by himself. Notice there has been lots of discussions but no action.

Isiah surely wants Odom, Kmart, Watson, Francis but he doesn't have the means to get them if he's not giving up Frye. We're gonna end up with a second rate bum like Jaric or Fortson.

Odoam is not a stopgap player. If you saw him in Miami, you'll realize that guy was ythe truth. Lead them in scoring, rebounder and was second in assist. Led them to the playoffs and had a phenominal year.

He's struggling a bit this year because he's finding it hard to fit in with Kobe. Odom is a threat to get a triple-double everytime he steps on the court.

How's about a Curry and Penny for Odom and Kwame? I am comfortable with losing Curry due to Jackie Butler's steady defensive and rebounding presence.

Can you guys read? It says 'Thomas WOULD HAVE GONE FOR IT HAD the Lakers added Bynum'. Why are people saying "this is good news" and "get it done"? The Lakers actually hired Kareem for the specific purpose of working with Bynum. They're not trading him for one. Two, who cares?

What a BAD trade that would be . Kwame sucks. There is NO way I would give up curry in that deal.

uh, no, i didn't say that... but the deal would be to get Odom AND Bynum... Odom's not my ideal choice, but he's not just some throw in player either.

yeah I misread that. maybe the Lakers think Frye will help them sooner than Bynum will and they unload Odom. long shot I know

Yeah with 80 million dollars invested in two out of shape centers and two draft picks gone, I would have rather had Gay and Bynum and some cap space to play around with, and possibly lose one more year...

Lakers arent stupid and the Knicks dont want Bynum. I believe that the Lakers want frye to put NEXT to bynum for the fUTURe---they have Kobe and a healthy kobe is one of only three players who can play with 4 elves and still be .500. they can rebuild while calming the water with Kobe. In fact any team that gets the lakers in the playoffs will be shtting their pants because kobe can ramp it up and no one can do anything about it.
