I'm reading the daily news tonight and I see in bitch lawrence's column that "have a better chance sending malik rose to Seattle. The sonics like rose and are interested"

That's gotta be bull****. Seattle actually likes malik rose? Madness.

Come on fellas I know one of you can figure out a crazy idea that just might work.

Daily news reports the Knicks want BOTH Evans and Fortson for Malik and maybe Ariza....

GET IT DONE ZEKE...Fortson can be a great5 backup C wand you can actually bench Curry and sytill have a legitimate force in the middle. I would definately take Evans to, he is a poor man's Ben Wallace.

this trade goes down it also probably means that Mo Taylor is gone this season and maybe Jerome James (who at least is playing like a man possessed with winning an all expense paid free trip to McD's!)

I'd seriously consider a follow up deal of James for Jaric, and with BOTH Fortson and Evans, and as a follow up maybe trying to pawn off Craw and Nate for Odom...

Curry/Fortson/Butler
Evans/Frye/Taylor?
Odom/Lee
Rose/Richardson/Woods
Marbury/Jaric
This malik trade gives us alot of options because we all though noone wanted him and we can actually get a starting quality PF and a rugged PF/C for him..This deal is MUCH safer thean the KMart deal.

They hate Fortson.

Most teams do after a while.

Danny is considered the "tossed salad man!" of the NBA.

Whos gonna room with him? I wonder how much fun it would be in practice?

"Jerome", guess whos rooming with you? Thats right, Danny's back!

"Jerome", hows the off season program going? Oh, been busy, guess what, Dannys gonna come work with you!

nononononononononononononononononononononononononono! You don't trade a young small foward with some promise for 2 undersized PFs who suck at everything besides rebounding. We're already a decent rebounding team and we can improve that from within'. Terrible idea.

Reggie Evans would be a good fit next to Curry. I don't like Fortson, but Evans is gritty.

just what we need... more guys to take playing time away from Frye & Lee.

if we're going to deprive our young guys from valuable playing time, can we at least get a star calibre player?

If the Knicks make this trade, Larry has become the de facto GM.

It probably means they've given up on Ariza if they make this trade. As much as I would like a very tough young player like Evans, I think Ariza is too young to give up on.

We're out rebounding opponents by an average of 3 or so a game.

What is killing us is not being able to defend & holding onto the ball.

And our problem isn't the defense out of the front court, but the perimeter players- how would these players help us?

The perimeter defenders are terrible pick and roll defenders.....they just leave guys open 15ft and better. Thats true......same could be said about them as far as fixing it in house. The guys are athletic enough to get it done....

Problem is the Knicks lack toughness inside. Fortson and Evans brings the lunch pail and they love it. The Knicks can score but these guys play the defense and they get the hard rebounds and proving the elbows and with Danny....the pain.

If there were to be a player to play over Frye as far as starting it would be Evans. Frye could still get the minutes but I like Evans starting with limited minutes. He's like Davis except he is young and athletic enough to still get it done. Fortson is a guy that I wouldn't mind seeing over Lee......I hate Malik. At least Fortson has no problem putting a man on his ass. I love that about him.

Ariza is redundant now with a better player in Woods around. Ariza is not the only swing man in the world. There will be another one. Ariza has too much things to work on. I personally could care less about him. Wish him luck and hopefully he can say high to Lavar Postel when he is playing in shome Bush league in Canada!!!

Nothing major here but it's another step in the right direction with regard to straightening out our salary cap, provided Zeke acts responsibly and just lets Penny walk off the cap w/o taking on any rediculous long-term deals back in a trade. Malik Rose has 1 more year on his deal than Fortson (Fortson's deal expires at the end of next season) - so now that would be another player that just comes off the cap at the end of next year along with the contracts of Houston, Jalen Rose, Mo Taylor, Jerome Williams and Shandon Anderson. If we can add Fortson to that list, that's a awful lot of money coming off the cap at one time. Plus, Rose and Ariza really provide nothing for us production-wise so shipping both of them outta here is no big deal at all (Rose is at the end of his career and Ariza's game has never really come together). And Evans is still young (DOB: 5/18/80), has a more-than-reasonable contract (owed the rest of $1,100,000 for the rest of this season only) and is a solid rebounder (7.1/game at about 20 mins./game for his career, including 9.3/game in only 23.8 mins./game for the 04-05 season. Not bad for a player who went undrafted.
The only thing that bothers me is that initially Evans & Fortson will take PT away from Frye and Lee - but a case can be made that it'll also make both of those guys work harder than ever, especially in the off-season, and be determined next season to fight for their PT.
Now if we can get Seattle to include one of their 2nd rounders w/o getting too greedy...If not, the deal makes sense as is and I definitely pull the trigger.

I'm torn. Pulling of such a trade will take away minutes from those precious rookies Frye and Lee. Evans is a perfect example of a Brown type of player. Hardworking overachieving rebounder, who hustles, plays some D and can't score if his family's life depended on it. With Evan here, Frye's minutes will probably hover around 22-24 mins per.

True, those are around what he's averaging now, but Evans is 26, and as long as log as Brown is here, I can see Evans finishing close games in crunch time for his rebounding and D taking away those mins for Frye to learn.

The way you look at a trade is who is getting the best player. Evans is the best player in this deal. So you would have to do it. My only point is, iof the Knicks are serious about building around Frye, Ratliff actually makes more sense because he's at the end of the loine and you within a yr or 2, he's turning the Pf position over to Frye becaue of age. Plus Ratliff gives them shotblocking that Evans won't bring.

"Man, who knows with this team." Aguirre.

I agree. Right or wrong, Ariza should be on an open court team. And while I feel like this Knicks team should be playing open court basketball, we are grinding it out in the half court every night. Ariza doesn't have any offensive skills for a half court set.

I hate Larry Brown. Thank god Theo got injured or he'd probably be here already.

Larry Brown thinks they should be an open court team also. BUt the morons forget to get back on defense, so no running.
