Speedy Claxton. Just read today that he'll be a free agent this summer and would consider coming to the Knicks for the mid-level exception. It almost makes too much sense.

would u rather have Speedy or Mike James? i'd rather have James personally... he's got that toughness & moxy i want to see more of on this team... Speedy's a good defender & quick, but i dunno if he has that killer instinct.

no way New Orleans gives up on Speedy right now, maybe over the summer we can get him for the MLE. but with CPaul down and NOK trying to make the playoffs they need Speedy.

I'd much rather have Mike James too, but I don't think he'll be available for the MLE. i think Toronto will offer him a ridiculous contract to stay to keep Bosh happy.

Its funny, I know Speedy pretty well.. I went to Hofstra and its true that he was a big Knicks Fan. As far as having a killer instinct.. he has it. Remember it was him not Tony Parker that played big for the Spurs in there championship run. My question is, Can Speedy be a point guard in the sense of playmaking and leadership as opposed to a scoring point guard? That's the type of player LB wants "The Quintessential Pass First Point", he played under LB AND WAS DEALT AWAY BEFORE. Speedy can definitely create for himself.. but is he the type that can make his teammates better as well.

That being said, can Mike James do the above mentioned either? I dunno, I see him as another point guard that can fill it up, but can't lead a team... He was doing alright with T-Dot but it still remains to be seen.

Personally, out of the two.. I'm going with Speedy.. but as a Knicks fan, I'd hope for Earl Watson , Mike Williams or Chris Duhon over either of them!

i'd take Duhon over both of them as well, but he's signed for another 2 years after this one at very reasonable dollars... i don't think CHI would trade him anytime soon.

Earl Watson's overrated imo... he's the most realistic option at this point, but i'd rather have James or Speedy than Watson.

Earl Watson did work in Memphis under Hubie Brown... He's the reason why they traded White Chocolate! As far as, Chris Duhon... It's rumored that Chicago is entertaining the idea of trading him to Cleveland for Drew Gooden??? If that's true.. then they are obviously open to dealing him away. My problem with Duhon is he can't hit an open shot.. much like Eric Snow in the Seattle days. He can set people up, and defend fairly well but has no jumpshot. Say what you want about Earl Watson, but he can do everything that we'd need at point... Larry Brown would love that guy!

what do we have to offer CHI other than Channing Frye that would interest the Bulls? they have no need for another swing player like Ariza... maybe David Lee? i wouldn't trade him to get Duhon though to tell you the truth... maybe Nate, but i don't see CHI being interested in him either.

we had a chance to sign speedy before he went to golden state- I can't remember what stiff we wasted the MLE on.

If we're signing Speedy to the MLE this summer it means either Nate has been traded or isn't going to be a serviceable PG.
