Parts:

Dolan
The organization is supportive of Brown while also showing signs of growing weary with him for airing its dirty laundry, a pet peeve of Garden chairman James Dolan. According to a source, the front office was disappointed that Brown informed the media on Wednesday that Thomas had told him that morning to devise a wish list of players. The next day, Brown revealed that he gave Thomas the list months ago.

Even when Brown is joking, the organization isn't laughing. On Tuesday, Brown made a flippant comment about Marbury attending Georgia Tech for only one year. Brown admitted a team official cautioned him about making such remarks because the media could twist his words. Brown then blamed the press for "blowing it out of proportion" even though it was made clear that Brown was in fact joking.

LB has done a horrible job.

People want to say Zeke is starphucker and has made bad decisions - Brown may be his worst and probably the one that will cost him his job. I hope people are happy when Lee is starting on some other team and we have the ghost of Theo Ratliff..

crz the truth is, this whole gig with LB was planned by isiah behind the scenes months before it happened. like any personell decision, it was isiah who brought him in. i know why he did, and its the same reason why he didnt protect the picks--he thought he had a big time winner here NOW. think about it, we added james curry q-rich a lottery pick to a 30+ something win team--he thought lB was going to move them to 45 wins. Its a mixture of everything, the owner the players the gM the coach EVERYONE, but in ANY organization, whether it be IBM Enron pro sprt teams etc.. there is a decision-maker somewhere who is ultimately responsible for the actions of the company--and that guy is Isiah.

oh, I agree. I'm just saying that LB has been the wrong coach for this team since day one. with a coach like Lenny Wilkens, this team, before the Marbury injury probably would have been over .500. how many close games have we pissed away with Malik Rose at the end, missing short jumpers? Lenny would let the best players play and make mistakes and there wouldn't be this awful attitude on team as much.

I don't forgive Zeke for some of the moves he's made, I'm just saying Brown will go down as the move that cost him his job. Rule 1a in sports, especially in New York, don't hire someone who can do your job who you don't see eye to eye with.

I think Zeke had a decent plan to have a run and gun team loaded with young talent. why then, add a coach like Brown to that mix? it's like he's trying to recreate his Detroit teams still: they were a very good run and gun team, but Daly turned them into a superior defensive team.

Brown doesn't trust young players though and he's proven he CANNOT live with the mistakes they make even if they are doing good things elsewhere. Q never got into a rhythm partly because of his injuries, but also because Brown yanked him anytime he missed a three early in the season, despite the fact that he was playing hard on D. Brown has destroyed Craw, Lee and Nate who should be productive players for us. Hes gotten in Frye's head, too. This is a disaster but I don't think it would be without Brown. Marbury being healthy would help a lot. What other coach would be allowed to be 14-35 with this level of talent?

Brown has been wanting to change the lineup since day one. He leaked out information that he was not happy with the lineup from his second press conference. Brown kept on saying that he was expecting Tim Thomas to be on the team. TT? What Brown fail to report with the media is, that he is the same Larry Brown that was behind the TT trading on the Sixers. Brown has to be the only coach I know that can get away with changing lineups and getting to know a team as an excuse this long. It is February and he is still evaluating players? Players that he knows that he wanted to get rid of since he first arrived?

I also believe that people should not believe everything Brown says for the simple fact that Larry was talking to Detroit to get the Pistons job while he was still the coach of the Sixers. Brown is still the same guy that while coaching the Pistons was trying to get a GM job of the Cavs. Larry loves the attention. Why else does Larry have let the media and fans know that Isiah has to come to him for needed advice on building a team?

ultimate responsibility lies with zeke, but lb has accountability too. does anybody believe zeke would hire a good coach just to produce these kind of results ? the fact that lb is a native new yorker, he should know new yorkers do not take kindly to these kind of performances. this is outright humiliating.

marek fuchs new york times article "knicks youth movement is moved into semiretirement" puts brown in the know.

brown apparently came aboard last summer with his own ideas. never known for relying on rookies. he had said he took the knicks job assuming that veterans like tim thomas and mike sweetney, both subsequently traded, would play significant roles

some sharpshooter trying to make brownie points will say mike sweetney is not a veteran and will dismiss the article....read on

i hope the portland trade does not materialize

we just have a total mismatch in coach and players. TOTAL mismatch and isiah put that together. kind of like the roster, total mismatch.

they need to figure out what they want to do. are they sticking with the players or not? are they sticking with lb or not? they have idiots running things with no f'n direction. it's pretty bad.

i watch the team and i see the players half-assing it. i see total lack of effort for stretches. i see stupid plays by many of our guys. and with lb compounding things with his mind games, i see the players responding poorly.

man, what a case study huh?

you got these players that are just flawed. some with major holes in their game. but many of them were allowed to operate like this their entire lives. then you bring in a guy with a major ego where it's "my way or the highway". and now you get a clash. and the result is 14-35. wow.

would any other coach be fired? probably.
should many of these players get traded? probably.

so what do we do now? do we get rid of lb? do we get rid of the players? or do we just stand pat?

i have no clue anymore but this is what isiah wanted. look at the other coaches he interviewed - laimbeer (please) and pj. he was looking for a strong dictator type guy for these guys.

again, with isiah, what is the plan?
