February 11, 2006 -- While Isiah Thomas and Knicks personnel director Brendan Suhr embarked on a college scouting trip yesterday, Larry Brown said they are just as likely to package their pair of late first-round of picks in a trade for a young veteran on draft night.
A source said the Knicks will look to package the picks with Maurice Taylor, who'll be entering his contract's expiring year. Brown feels the Knicks have enough youngsters.
"We got seven young kids right now," Brown said. "There's a lot of things you can do with draft picks."
So long Hilton Armstrong and whomever else we may have landed...
The new new core: Randle, RJ, IQ. Maybe Mitch. Future pick. Future trade. Future FA.

I read that, I was talking to my brother yesterday about that and I figured this would happen...I can't really argue with it because this draft is strong on bigs and we have alot of bigs...

ugh what have we gotten into? nice poker player--give your hand away 6 months before anything happens
maybe we need to identify some of the youths on our team that do not fit and move them with some of the guys who shouldnt be here.
Do you guys think we could TRADE for abetter player than Kelvin Martin of the Kings? Thats the risk you take--number 1 young guys help manage the cap and number 2 if you are good and drafting then you can hand select what you want.
What if we walked out of this draft with one high quailty 2 G---> Richard Roby and one big--- Taj gray/Josh Boone/Hilton/aaron gray. If we added Roby and Boone, look at the defensive length and athletiscm you added for cheap. Think there is some reason why Josh has been a main piece on a team that won a championship and has a chance for another? Paul Davis kind of scares me because of mike bradley i see a lot of similarities and it didnt work out well for bradley.
we should use our enders and some of the yoots who dont fit, if a pick makes sense come time oK, but if I recall, we were not doing a quick fix or are we?

It is time to parlay some of our assets into a young vet. Like Briggs the question I have is do we trade some of young players we already have or the draft picks? I think we'll be doing a little of both. I don't doubt that Isiah will do whatever it takes to get the kind of players we need at this point.
