LB Type players on this lineup are as follows...
Marbury - Yes. LB has broken him and built him back up to a very good floor general before Wally banged into him. He plays good D now and controls the offense very well.
Frye - Smart, Hustle player
Lee - Smart, Hustle player
Jalen - Savy
Q Richardson - If not for his shooting, he would be awesome right now.
Jackie Butler - Role Player
Malik Rose - Savy, but the sad thing is that his skills has deteriorated. His skills from his SA glory days are gone thus his lack of height has been exploited.
Players trying to be LB type:
Q Woods - He is trying and I would need more time to evaluate. He is looking good though.
MoT - If he can learn how to pass out of double teams he would be ideal. He tries on rebounding and is a pleasent surprise in D and his nastiness. Me likes the dirty fouls
Players who should be LB type but are boneheads...
Ariza - Long active player. Needs to learn positional defense and not try to gamble too much. Needs to listen to his coach.
Jerome James - Shot Blocker. Good rebounder due to his size. Nasty. Problem is that he is a bonehead and lazy. If he can get an ounce of what Patrick had in work ethic he would be a starter in this league.
NON LB Typs players..
Nate - Ummm. Honeymoon is over. His freelancing and penchant for the hi-light reel is killing him now. I guess we have to wait for the 2nd honeymoon (after the slam dunk contest)
Jamal - He is trying but he is just not an LB type player. He plays controlled then all of a sudden...poof..the lights go off and he is jacking 3s from the parking lot.
Penny - Loser
Nate, Jamal, Ariza, Big Game and Penny should be in the list of players to be traded. Malik should be but I don't think anyone would take him.
This is real interesting. Look who escaped your mind altogether!! Our "franchise" player, 6'11" 285# of who-knows-what costing us 2 lottery picks the son-of-a-gun!!!!!!!
Oh Man! He was on my mind but then I had to go to a meeting. sheesh....
Curry - Not an LB type player, but so was Starbury. He needs to be broken down and then re-built. He needs to understand positioning. He needs to understand how to box out. I say, bring back Oak as a consultant and have him bang on these guys and show how to play the post defensively.
