I mean its the first legit shot at superstar franchise caliber talent since Ewing perhaps. We should have a top 4 pick at the very WORST.

It seriously makes me sick.

I'm suffering. My god I need spring to come so I can start playing some ball to take my mind off this

it's not the raptors pick we got... it was DEN's protected pick to 6, but it'll likely be in the late teens or low 20's.

If we were in the lottery we would be looking for a big man--now what big man would you pick over Eddy Curry?

Stop with that comparison because it's not fair. Curry refused to play for chicago and Isiah bid against himself and gave in with the picks...

Im sick of Eddy Curry. Enough with Eddy Curry this Eddy Curry that. He is a dumbass with no basketball IQ whatsoever. Last night in the first quarter, he gets the ball in the post only to turn around lower his shoulder and maul Collins to get a offensive foul. Couple of plays later he DOES THE EXACT SAME THING! 2 fouls in a matter of minutes. He comes back in the second quarter TO DO THE EXACT SAME THING AGAIN for his 3 foul. He is a joke.

It's also called being aggressive and I won't fault him for that, he admits he needs to learn to cut down on those fouls if you listened to him after the game last night.

Its not being aggressive. Its being a total dumbass. 3 same plays to pick up 3 offensive fouls? Please. Yeah and he has been saying he has to cut down those kind of fouls since the start of the season. Where is the improvement?

That he sees what he needs to work on. You don't fix these things overnight.

i thought this was fully unprotected. It's top 5 protected?

that's what i got from what i read on this board... apparently the pick is top 5 protected this year, top 3 protected next year, & then unprotected in '08... they had reported on the day of the trade on MSG that the pick was unprotected tho, so it's a bit confusing as to who to believe.

great question and an easy answer... Adam Morrison right now. Maybe Rudy Gay. Maybe Aldridge. Maybe the Italian kid. Yes.. I know. Not one is a center. My point is it simply doesnt matter. Its the same notion I put out when we signed JJ. Just because you NEED a spot filled doenst justify making a bad move to fill it. I have always been happy we got Eddie Curry, but that trade was a bad one.

We pissed away at least one if not 2 chances to draft a star. Eddie Curry isnt a star. Big, small, doesnt matter. Look at the Nets. They are in first place. They beat good teams. They embarass us. They do it with Cliff Robinson, Krstic, Collins and Scott Padgent in the front court... but they have something we dont have. A star (2 if not 3 actually).

Management essentially said we would be so good w/ Curry the picks wouldnt matter. Looks good so far huh?

Not only is not one a center but all have big question marks as well. You yourself say that CBB is one thing and the NBA another...I'll take Curry with the 3 or 4 pick if not higher.

The Nuggets put either top 5 or 6 (I forget which) protection on the pick in a prior trade. They still have that protection. One article said Isiah waited months because he refused to do this deal with the Raptors if they put additional protection on the pick. (The Raptors wanted remaining lottery protection; i.e., 7 to 14).

I am amazed at Currys agility, soft hands, and basically is unstopable in the paint!

He collects fouls at an amazing rate.

Can he get "refined" with footwork, and if possible, face that basket with a 15 footer!

He is right on the fence. He can be a true allstar, or never improve.

I agree this guy is a joke. No heart!!!!! I'm tired of hearing wait till he loses weight, wait till he gets older. This guy is an average player he will never play more than 30 minutes a game so he will be a 16-6 player all his life.
I want to leave something that's going to stand for a long timeI want to leave a legacy,I want to leave tradition.I want to leave an imprint,a blueprint in terms of how people play, and how they coach and how they respond when they put on the Knick uni.

its not so much the pick this year that is going to hurt, its the prospect of being in a similar position next year where we give up a top pick to chicago.

I mean, its fair to say Curry is a top pick potential- but he isn't two!

According to Mike Breen last night Curry actually has lost weight (30 lbs) since the start of the season, and is in better shape. It's defintely other things at this point:

Foul trouble/Lowering his shoulder
Poor defense
Difficulty getting post position
Passing out of double teams (which he did better lately)
Inconsistent shot blocking
Not being physical enough for his size
Forum Po Po and #33 for a reason...
