We could get more than that for that package.

If Ben's getting 10 bucks a year I say we skip the trade and sign him for 12 and a free haircut.

Hell yes! Ben would be the perfect compliment on defense to Curry. And we need his toughness. Would Detroit do that trade? I can't imagine it. They'd be drastically decreasing their chances of winning a championship. Would Ben Wallace want to finish his career in NY? I highly doubt it. Maybe if Isiah gets a very good established player with Penny and some of the young players or draft picks and the team finishes the season strong, he'd consider it. But I highly doubt Ben would choose to sign with any team that's not an elite team right now and I highly doubt we'd have the pieces Detroit would want in a trade anyway.

Ben turns 32 this year so I'm guessing he as about 2 or 3 years left of playing like "Big Ben". Are we going to trade our best youth in order to win a championship in those years?

yes. trade Frye for KG / Ben Wallace. Basically 3 #1 picks + MoT for Ben Wallace. Yes. We should have gone after Artest.

I didn't realize he was that old actually. I thought he was closer to Marbury's age. I wouldn't do this trade. I'd look for a younger PF/C with more years left in him to add to the team even if the player were not as good as Ben

A player not as good as Ben is quite rare. Who were you thinking of trading Frye for my brother? Big Ben is quite a rare player in the league, cause there are maybe 3 players as NEARLY as good, defensively as him, and just about everyone is better than him offensively. Therefore, if there's a player not as good as him, he probably isn't that good, hence, I'm not willing to give Channing up for him, nor would I have been willing to give him up for Wallace.

I didn't say I'd give up Frye for that player. I don't follow the point you're making about any player who's not as good as Ben being not good at all, though.

I'm saying that Ben is heads and shoulders better than all the other "Defensive specialists" and it probably wouldn't be worth trading Frye for another one of those guys.

I agree with that. The other defensive specialists are players I'd look to add (via trade, draft, or MLE signings) to our Frye/Curry frontcourt.
