it began 12/28

game - mins played

@orl - 14
@mil - 34
pho - 52
was - 24
sea - 24
@cle - 10
dal - 19
atl - 34
@tor - 39
min - 20
@chi - 37
det - 25
no/ok - 17
sac - dnp
orl - 10
phi - 1 (blowout)
atl - 29 (blowout)
lal - 6 (blowout)
@tor - 23 (blowout)
hou - dnp

artest was traded the day of the sacramento game. then lee's minutes took a major dip. he wasn't starting anymore and the game were blowouts. do you think david was being showcased at the SF spot so we could get in the artest sweepstakes? (this would absolutely suck to think that a guy like lee is on the market. i hope that's not the case as he's one of the few that goes balls out every play.)

makes sense. You'd have to move him for Artest or any real difference maker for that matter. Its a crime that this guys isn't playing now though. I'm not sure what we lose with him on the floor.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

I did feel something was going on. At some point you have to wonder why certain players are being just showcase with the our season at risk? Malik Rose? James? Q?

I'm not sure what pattern you're referring to. To me, it looks like Lee's minutes have been all over the board from 0 to 30 all season with no noticable change after the Artest trade. I must be missing something that you're seeing.

I think Brown was just going for a shakeup, Lee had started 13 games in a row at SF which must be some sort of record for the season, Brown probably thought like it was time for a change. There were also 3 straight days of practice between NOK and SACTO, where Malik and Qyntel supposedly beat Lee in practice.

I still think Lee should be a backup, change of pace PF for us.

I think the Knicks lose scoring when Lee is out there - that's the main thing.

I would think the Knicks would put him out there when they need rebounding, but I guess they're just not comfortable having someone out there who's not looking for his shot.

If they put Frye out there, they know they'll get some scoring even if his D isn't so good yet, and he'll probably grab some boards. And they can put Nate out there to harrass the other team's point guard. I don't think they really know how to use Lee.

Woods is playing well. Brown rewards practicing hard. Alot of these changes are probably reflections of practice.

rain - you make a point here. I like Lee a lot because he moves the ball and hits the boards. Perhaps David Lee's minutes were more affected by practice matchups when Qyntel started draining three's.

Bear in mind, after they bulked him up, U of Florida even used him at center. In high school he was more of a frequent flyer.

Give Lee time to adjust to a new position, the pro game and find his voice.

The other point that's been raised here is - maybe Lee really is more suited to the PF position.
