ok, i'm not attached to any player on this team. i like some of them and would like them to stick around but at the end of the day, my loyalties lie to the knicks and if they win or not. sweets was my favorite player last year and i was upset when they moved him but i understood why we did.
which leads me to our current situation. we have a plethora of young guys (not on big contracts): jackie, trevor, q2, nate, lee, and frye.
4 of those guys are first round picks, 1 of them a second rounder, and one off the scrap heap.
will they all be nba players? will they all be GOOD nba players? i have no clue.
i understand some of them need to be moved to make our team better. what irks me is the PHILOSPHY of why they have to be moved. we have to move them as ENTICEMENTS to dump guys like q1, malik, jerome, mo, etc. we have to move them to move contracts for players that shouldn't have even been here in the first place.
so now there's discussions of trading some of those young guys in deals for guys like earl watson, ruben patterson, and ratliff.
i ask again, what exactly is the plan? when are we going to just get out of this vicious cycle of big unnecessary contracts? wait, i forgot, who cares about the cap? well, when you HAVE to include a guy like trevor or nate just so we can trade q1, then you know what? the $$$'s matter.
i know it's a process but confused and frustrated is what i am.
rant/whine/moan/bitch, whatever you want to call it, is over.
