Well, trading for a player with possibly the worst active deal in basketball whom I happen to hate with all my guts just might be the final straw to haning in the Knickdom affiliation.

LOL, its not going to happen. after thinkingabout it, unless q-rich and jerome james went for the ride, its not worthy its too risky

BTW, we send them James and Q and suddenly that pick we have from them could be top 8!

If Q starts playing well his contract could be very easily tradeable in the future, heck even JJ's contract could be moved if he played well in some stretch, there will always be a demand for C's.

Now K-Mart was never worth his contract and never will be in the future.

Penny and Jackie Butler for K-Mart and Nene. Den doesn't want to pay Nene big money and they can get good, cheap production Jackie. Nene should be as good as new by the start of next season. ACL surgery is typically successful after a year of rehab. I'd really like Den to remove all lottery protection on their pick as part of this proposed trade but that's probably more than we could ask for.

Id take Kenyon. they can fix his knee up. sometimes players have an injury that aggravates for a 1-2 year period--look at BIG Z all the way back to Bernad King. while k mart is not the save all, its WAY better than what we have!

Briggs the difference is that Big z and BK were skilled players, Kenyon relies on his athleticism, other than that, he has no game IMO.. good defender tho, but again that has a lot to do with his athleticism, arthritic knees can be a career killer..

If this rumor has any truth to it I'd be done for it. I've never really liked Martin and I've always thought he was overpaid and not a player you can build your team around BUT... He is a very good defensive player and will be the kind of player that Eddy Curry needs next to him to excel. KMart can guard the big 4's around the league without worry. I also think he's the kind of player that Stephon Marbury would love to play with, I think they'd have a pretty raport together if teamed up. KMart would be able to energize the offense a bit and while he wouldn't be spectacular on the offensive end I think 16 and 8 would be a definate possibility.

Now the only questions remaining are: 1. How bad are his knees and 2. How true is this.

Did Steph and Kenyon get along when they were Nets? I seem to remember them not liking each other? Also, I think Steph broke Kenyon's leg in Kenyon's rookie season.

Kmart with Curry could be a great combo!

ITs a perfect knick kind of deal!

I don't care anymore. Really. Do the deal, wTf, keep David Lee! Trade Reezy. I can live with that. Keep drafting.

This could be McDyess part II. He also has a big contract. If things don't workout it will be hard to trade him until 2011. Also Kmart in a strickly halfcourt set might not be good for him either.

I'll believe this rumor when I see it.

Kenyon doesnt touch Mcdyess in his prime. I dont think they are seperated by much now to be honest, although Mcdyess's knee might be more sturdy:>)

Agreed. I was comparing McDyess and Kmart as far as injuries are concern. We got McDyess thinking he was going to be the answer and he stayed injuried.

Besides that. I was a huge McDyess fan. He reminded me of one of my favorites, Dominique Wilkins. McDyess had the turn around jumpshot and could post up. Kmart is all hops.

if Mcdyess knee didnt shatter, the Knicks win 50+ games and wouldve been a terror in the playoffs.

Kenyon Martin's always been overrated IMO. No real offensive game to speak of besides running the floor-- can hit the occassional jumper in halfcourt but that's about it. Very good defender but the rebounding is very lukewarm and uninspiring. Definitely not worth a max-type contract, even when healthy.

Plus, he's an assh*le.

You can call it that but I think he provides the toughness we need on a team of very soft players. Of course he's not worth his salary but you know I'm not concerned about that. The McDyess deal was a failure of huge proportions and shouldn't even be mentioned in this thread. No one's talking about giving up an early lottery pick for K-Mart!
If we're giving up Penny's expiring contract, we have to get much more in return, though. Nene and removal of top 5 protection from their 2006 pick would be a good start.

If its a 3 team deal involving Francis, KMart, Q and Ariza, it has to be something like this;

Quentin Richardson
6-6 SG from DePaul
7.4 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 1.4 apg in 24.4 minutes
Jamal Crawford
6-5 SG from Michigan
14.1 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 3.9 apg in 32.9 minutes
Trevor Ariza
6-8 SF from UCLA
4.7 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 1.3 apg in 19.9 minutes
Incoming
Kenyon Martin
6-9 PF from Cincinnati
13.4 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 1.4 apg in 28.9 minutes
Earl Watson
6-1 PG from UCLA
8.0 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 3.6 apg in 22.4 minutes
Change in team outlook: -4.8 ppg, -1.9 rpg, and -1.6 apg.

Orlando Trade Breakdown
Outgoing
Steve Francis
6-3 PG from Maryland
17.3 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 5.8 apg in 38.0 minutes

Trevor Ariza

Change in team outlook: +8.9 ppg, +5.6 rpg, and +0.8 apg.

Denver Trade Breakdown
Outgoing
Kenyon Martin
6-9 PF from Cincinnati
13.4 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 1.4 apg in 28.9 minutes
Earl Watson
6-1 PG from UCLA
8.0 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 3.6 apg in 22.4 minutes
Incoming
Steve Francis
6-3 PG from Maryland
17.3 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 5.8 apg in 38.0 minutes
Change in team outlook: -4.1 ppg, -3.7 rpg, and +0.8 apg.

This would be a huge shift in Isiah's team building as we'd be sending out many of his prized athletic players.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Another input on KMart's health - I don't think I've seen this referenced before: Per my buddy in Denver, KMart had micro-fracture surgery on his knee last summer and it is slow to heel. He said he also seems to get hurt quite easily.
