Is Kenyon Gone?
RUMOR MILL PREVIEW – Because some things are too hot to sit on…. Here is a glimpse at tomorrows headline in the Rumor Mill…

Is Kenyon Martin Out? Informed sources near the Nuggets say that despite the public support of Kenyon Martin by the Nuggets, the team is rumored to be shopping Kenyon Martin and may be closing in on a deal sending Kenyon to the New York Knicks… it’s unclear the exact nature of the deal, sources say it could include as many as two other teams (4-way deal), one team mentioned by Denver sources is the Orlando Magic, and Steve Francis… Magic sources deny any knowledge of a deal even on the table, but say it’s not impossible to believe after losing to the Hawks this week that the team could be exploring a change. The concern expressed by Magic sources is “if” Francis were traded, they would be turning the point and scoring duties over to Keyon Dooling, as Jameer Nelson is still on the shelf with a significant foot injury that may ultimately require surgery. The Knicks having recently acquired Jalen Rose from the Raptors now have a several expendable players, all at areas where the Magic need help especially the small forward position, where a sharp shooting Quentin Richardson could be a nice fit in Orlando, especially if he was packaged with Trevor Ariza or David Lee. Sounds like an easy deal to justify for all parties – the question remains, is this the deal Denver is looking to make?

KMart is perfect. Long term massive contract and arthritic knee. That would give Isiah a legit excuse for at least 3 more years

If he was healthy I would do it in a heartbeat. He's not. End of story

Id take Kenyon. they can fix his knee up. sometimes players have an injury that aggravates for a 1-2 year period--look at BIG Z all the way back to Bernad King. while k mart is not the save all, its WAY better than what we have!

Successful Scenario
Due to Denver and New York being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Denver and New York had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

I'd do this in a heartbeat!

I don't know KMart's knee situation. If he's remotely healthy, he's a pitbull defender, can't create his own shot, good rebounder.

anyone have more background on his injury?

it was tough getting it out of them. i had to not only give them cash but i had to compromise my integrity and return to my male-hooking days. after all of that, i had to click on this:

hmm. sorry you had to give up male-hooking, hoopshype would have a little more credibility with me for some reason.

I'll believe it if Vecsey has a story on it tomorrow.

Knowing our luck it's true and Kmart will never play again.

I think it's a great idea to trade away a promising young player like Lee for someone with a bad knee. Historically the Knicks have had great luck with players having knee injuries. McDyess, and Houston spring to mind.

I agree. I just hope we can also swing Grant Hill our way along with Kenyon.

absolutely, no Lee. Ending contract is good enough, just like Baron Davis..

The deal that's being talked about isn't ending contracts, it seems like Francis to Den, Kmart to NY, Qrich+Ariza to Orl.

there was a semi-big fiasco the other day because Kmart left the bench in Denver with the team down 13 and 3 minutes to go to go get ice treatment on his knee. The Nuggets said it wasn't a problem the next day, but I wonder if this has anything to do with it. so they're looking to trade a guy who left the bench for a guy who refused to re-enter the game?

I wonder if the Knicks will try to expand it to get Earl Watson? Denver would have four PGs with Francis, unless they're thinking of using Francis as a SG.

I think if the trade is kmart and Watson for q-rich, Taylor, ariza you gotta do it.

I dunno how hurt kmart is because he still is a freak athelete. I saw him put up 22 the other day with a few master blasters as Clyde would say.

Kmart in ny on the other side of the nets knicks rivalry? How crazy is that?

you have to think four matchups vs. the Nets had to figure into this for Zeke. If the Nets blew us out four times this season, I don't think anyone could take that. IF it's happening that is. seems like a possibility though.

wasn't there a rumor the Nuggets wanted Jerome James earlier this season? i have no idea why they'd want him, but I distinctly remember that.
