I think w/ the addition of Jalen this could actually turn the season around. I would also consider including both our #1s in this draft for Portland's #1 in 07

Reason being a simple #s game. We have so many young guys already and long term deals that adding two more kids this offseason just doesnt make sense.

I think Ratliff is great for 20 minutes and his D can stabalize the frontcourt much like Kurts did at times. I also think Miles has a shot to really thrive under LB. He's got a great handle (Cle actually showcased him at PG) and can really defend. I would be open to improving what we give up.

PS Patterson isnt coming here. I think MSG said that the Knicks flat out said no because he's a sex offender

wow you mean you would trade 2 picks in the 20s for a top 8 pick.

I dunno. Theo's basically a 4/5 player at this point. He's over the hill compared to Thomas. With a deep bench, he's a nice player as a back up and for clean up time but I can't see him making a difference here over the long haul.

#2.. its short team. That last year of his deal will probably hurt but we are talking 20-25 minutes a night at the 4/5 in front of Frye.

Jay.. there would be protection, but declining like we gave to the Suns (now owned by the Jazz). Say 07 no lottery. Then 08 top 8, then 09 top 3, than 2010 no protection.

one thing tho, i think ratliff is toast. i've watched some portland games this year. he's really good for like 10 mins. and he's on his last legs. you make the deal now, it would look good b/c he'd be energized for the rest of the season. but then the next two years would be tough. (almost like what happened in portland when he got there)

No thanks to ratliff. Adding ratliff(32) & patterson(30) doesn't do anything for this team long term. I say this because I think turning this team around is a long term process considering the players we have. I don't believe that this team can become contenders by simply trying to improve from within, or that we are a couple of players away from being a legit powerhouse. Now, I'd consider the deal if we're getting a pick this yr or next though. I do like the idea of shipping Craw too.

Contrary to your opinion, I think we do need to add 2 rookies who play defense and who's got warrior's mentality. Except for Lee, I'm not yet fully sold on the youth we have.

agrees. Ratliff is shot. He's 32! whats the point. How much wouold he really help. okay, maybe with Ratliff, we'd be a little closer to the 8th seed in the playoffs. Is that what you want? Sorry, I'd pefer rebuilding with an eye towards a championship, not a four game sweep at the hands of the Pistons.

I hate Ratliff. I think the team's main need right now is a backup PG for Marbury.
