contract:
06/07 $7,750,000
07/08 $8,250,000
08/09 $9,000,000
09/10 $9,000,000

health: just had some knee surgery, projected to return within a few weeks

stats: over the past 3 years, he's averaging around 15 pts, 5 rebs, 2.5 asts, 1.5 blks, 48 FG%

final word: under larry brown, i think darius miles would be the BEST defensive SF in the league. he's long, he blocks shots, and he's UBER athletic. red flag is the knee surgery. but it was considered minor and he's still young. portland is looking for cap relief so we'll probably have to take back ratliff in the package.

No thanks to Miles. We've said so many things about certain players being Larry Brown type players, like how he'd love Ariza and would hate Mo T, when it's been the opposite. Miles is a low IQ player. We need young high IQ vets right now. Miles would just add to the stupidity, no matter how athletic he is. We wouldn't be much better off with him.

Might have to agree with A-Fan.

there is just so low our IQ can go.

Why we want so many Jail-Blazers? They suck!

we need more polished guys with strong fundamentals.

Not more "fun" mentals! We have a great group of great guys with great senses of humor! Its so great they suck!

it's pretty obvious to me that only thing low IQ around here are allanfan and nalod.

dmiles is the TRUTH. (and yes, he is the guy that makes all those anti smoking ads)

i am now taking this as a personal challenge and will be making a briggs like tirade on how we should get him.

I'd do Ariza and an expiring for DMiles and Theo if they came with a draft pick. Don't know if Portland would do that or not.

I just don't see Miles on a championship quality team with any type of players around him, and really, that's why I wouldn't trade for him.

nyk4ever - just curious, who is on your short list for owner, GM and player?

Me, myself personally... if I ruled the world the Knicks ownership group would be a triumvirate composed of Bill Bradley, Woody Allen and Spike Lee. But I've never been a fan of doing things by committee.

Dollar Bill Bradley gets the nod as THE Man who's sticking it to himself.

Next, my nomination for President of Basketball Operations... not that I'm hatin' on Isiah in the least but I bleed orange and blue... what the heck is a former Piston doing in the house?

This is also tough one because this person has got to take intense heat from all sides. He must know the league, be as cool as the other side of the pillow and handle the NY media circus with the dexterity of a behind-the-back dribble.

Hmmm... okay.... got it....Walt Frazier. He's seen more Knicks games from the sideline in the last 20 years than damn near anyone else.

Head Coach?

If I ruled the world? The loyal longstanding Knick Herb Williams? Jeff Van Gundy? Mark Aguirre? Mark Jackson? I always visualized him as a Napoleonic-looking presence on the sideline. Nah. I'm going deep and younger on this one. This person will receive a ten year no-cut, no-fire, no-hassle contract.

Kenny Smith.

Well, Owner is a tough one because we don't know who would be interested in buying the team or who has the money to buy the team. If I had a perfect world, George Steinbrenner would be the Knicks owner or Mark Cuban would sell the Mavs and buy the Knicks. Like I said though, owner is a tough one. The same goes for players, I know we can't just magically make the current players disappear, but damn I sure wish I had a magic wand and was able to do that. Not realistic though.

GM? Now thats a good question. I honestly think that any GM that works under Dolan is going to have a time succeeding in the FANS eyes because Uncle Jimmy wants to see $$$ and will tell his GM's to spend money if the somewhat good results come with it. I think Isiah would be fine right now if he were vying for a playoff spot but he's not, infact, he's far from it and I think that puts him on real shaky ground. I'd honestly like to see what Hubie Brown could do as a GM though, he has a excellent basketball mind and I'd like to give him a shot as the Knicks next gm.
