Wow, just had a thought related to something I read awhile back. What I read was, if Portland signs someone to their midlevel exception the Knicks could get Boumtje x2 for 1.5 since all that the Blazers would have remaining is their midlevel exception being 1.4.
Now don't ask me why, maybe it's all the articles about the luxury tax, the Celts trade and other teams desperately trying to remain under the luxury tax treshold estimated at 50-52 million.
What center do I covet besides Michael Olowokandi and Lorenzen Wright? You got it, Radoslav Nesterovic.
The point being, do you think Minnesota will go over the luxury tax treshold?
Personally I don't think McHale has gotten the OK to do so just yet and with only 7 players

they have a salary cap of 50,863,235. So Nesterovic simply accepting his qualifying offer of 2,436,813 would hit the 53 mil mark with a minimum of 4 players to add. Not to mention that they need a PG since Billups left.
..
I honestly think that if the Knicks offer the full exception to Nesterovic, if he signs it Minnesota will not match. They would loose to much money if they did, not something I'll see them do
