swiped this from the toronto board at realgm:

In the end, Babc ck was undone by his failure to be aggressive and his obsession with accumulating draft picks. He started losing Tannebaum when Tannebaum found out about an offer from the Knicks that he considered superior (Kurt Thomas, Tim Thomas, and a first rounder for Vince and Jalen, with whatever filler required from each side) to what Rob got from NJ. Tannebaum found out from external sources and Rob said he didn't think it was a good trade, so he never elevated the discussion.

Interesting!

Say it was Frye that was the pick. No frye, no Thomas. We still have enough to do the Eddy trade? Can't trade Two no. picks in consectutive years.

No Qich, no Nate. I can live without those two.

Funny how history can change.

Marbs
J.Rose/Craw
Vince/Q?
Sweets/Mo T./Lee/Malik
James/Butler

I can guess chemistry might not be to good, and We get killed inside.

That roster ain't pretty. what am I forgetting?

since this deal would've went down before the deadline.

lineup would be steph, vince, jalen, sweets, nazr
with crawford, moochie, trevor, and vin off the bench

getting Vince here would be fun, but I'd rather have the kids to build around, Curry and Frye in particular.

I guess. I remember having a heart attack when Zeke said he thought Vince, Marbs, Houston and Crawford could all play at the same time. Obviously, we would have never had to worry about Houston, but still.

I believe the Roster at the end of the season would have been.....

Steph, Vince, Jalen, Mo T, Sweets....BTW, with this lineup we aren't picking 8th.

I still think the trade for the Spurs picks are made, but I think the Curry deal is still made but with Ariza (or Lee) and Sweets for Curry, and I also believe AD is still in Chicago, and we still sign JJ....

Steph
Vince
Jalen
Mo T
Curry

Vince would have been great here. It could have been something really special. Nazr would have worked nicely with that group but we still would have needed some more interior players. It would have been a dream though. Much easier to build around 2 consistant stars with a deep bench than it is to build around one and a bunch of young and inconsistant players.

yeah, the point is that they ignored a better deal from the knicks. It's clear as day...it's not like isiah can go out and get who he wants when he wants them as long as salaries match up. Some trades have greater value when dealing. Everyone deals with layden now that he's in utah. But as a knick, he got garbage.

No more trades, we keep getting screwed...but back to subject, what's up with the raptors taking garbage instead for vinsanity...

it's pure crap.

I think this probably happens a lot with the Knicks no matter who their GM is.
