if kevin mchale calls you up tomorrow and offers you this deal:

AD, frye, lee, ariza (and possible spurs #1) for KG

do you make this deal?

probably... but instead of Lee i'd rather put in Nate. And I'd want them to add Jaric and have us add Qrich.

KG becomes the best player on the team.

To some extent, talentwise, it would make sense.

But, if you do that trade, or some combination there of, I still don't see the knicks turning it around- at least to warrent making the deal in the first place.

He doesn't put us over the top.

And he's not a piece that you would say is going to be as effective in 5 years.

At some point, age is going to impact his speed & effectiveness.

I would do this deal if Wally was still involved. Now he's gone, we're trading away all our good stuff for one player, albeit a great player. But it's getting us nowhere.

Frye is the only player that matters from my perspective, and as much as it hurts, i would have to say yes.

Frye is never going to be a great defender is limited athletically and is a great shooter he is not going to be duncan or garnet lets not get carried away.......

ariza is not going to be a great player in this league.....

i would do ariza, butler, ad, penny and frye.....

No brainer. I'd include Frye and an expiring contract for KG and Troy Hud but I really doubt that would be enough. If they're looking to move on without KG (a HUGE if) they might do that deal if we included, Nate, Lee, Ariza, and SA's 2006 #1. I think that's what it would take. Then we'd have

Marbury
Jamal/Q Rich
Woods
Garnett/Taylor
Curry/Butler

You could probably do another expiring contract for Rose, Mike James, and Den 2006 #1.

Marbury/James/Rose
James/Rose/Jamal
Woods/Rose/Q-Rich
Garnett/Taylor
Curry/Butler
