DerMarr Johnson found by Willis Reed

Jackie Butler [& Jermaine Jackson] found by a Knicks CBA scout

Matt Barnes & Qyntel Woods are guys Brown sought after

Now to Isiah's key cheap signings:

Jamison Brewer

Bruno "we're getting him at the right time in his development" Sundov

now its true all these guys are supposed to work together in upgrading the team but it seems the true bang for the buck signings were people found by someone other than Isiah. People ask who would replace Isiah. I say Brown or an ex-player.

Not in haterworld!!! If something is good you must find a way to discredit IT for it. If something is bad you must find a way to magnify IT's hand in it, or make it seem much worse than it is. Check the thread about how IT caused us to miss drafting Dwight Howard or Emeka Okafor.

In this particular instance, said poster can now see that Qyntel Woods is about to become a great pickup (a good young player, with lots of potential, who is signed dirt cheaply). Because said poster can see that, and believes some may credit IT with the signing, said poster has premptively started the campaign to disassocite IT from the acquiring of Qyntel Woods.

You might think, wouldn't a knicks fan be happy that we got a good young player, dirt cheap? Not a hater. And not if that young player could turn out to somehow make IT look like he knows what hes doing.

You now understand the mind of a hater.

HaterWorld

Killa4luv - you must savor the revelations of self-officious haters like McK1 for what they are. Nothing more than one-sided tripe shoveled out by an individual who has never once set foot in the Knicks offices at 2 Penn Plaza, never been in on a single conference call, never attended a practice, or ever attended a single administrative meeting to discuss personnel.

OF COURSE, Isiah should only be given credit credit for things that go wrong or bump in the night. Why should he be given credit for anything positive?

Besides, back in the day Willis Reed scouted (and recommended) Lonnie Sheton and Michael Ray Richardson in Montana. Why? Because it was his job to report what he saw AND convince management to listen to his evaluation. Isiah must bear the responsibility of the roster with input from Brown and his scouts.

Personally, I'm estatic that Isiah hired Kelly Tripucka as a scout instead of Frank Layden sitting around as a "consultant" on the Knicks payroll. I"m encouraged by the renovation of the roster, with more mores to come.

When considered for what they are, the unfounded random assumptions, or playback of other's random opoinion, scribbled in crayon by McK1 not only border on the ridiculous but are downright hilarious.

Of course, you already know that Isiah Thomas is the diabolical mastermind behind FEMA's blatant mismanagement of Hurricane Katrina

I choose to maintain hope in our very raw (8 players under 25) core of impressionable talent that Isiah has assembled so far.

identity/direction of the franchise

What do you base this grade on?

Number and quality of celebrities seated courtside?

Annual Sales of merchandise?

Number of articles compared with New Jersey Nets?

Attractiveness of NYK to NBA Players considering a change of sceenery?

Demand for Cablevision subscriptions?

I guess you and McK1 differe with my view that if you hire good scouts and good decision-makers throughout the organization and use the info. those people give you intelligently to reach your own final decision as GM, you should get credit for that.

OK so what do you make of the IT decision to not re-sign DerMarr Johnson and instead using the 14th, 15th roster spots on Bruno Sundov, Jamison Brewer?

I have no idea how that came up but I'd disagree with those decisions of Isiah. I think he's made very good but far from flawless decisions with the young players he's used to fill the 14th and 15th roster spots.

MCK1 your memory is selected. Ariza actually outplayed DerMarr back in 2004 SL practices, in the SL as well. Herb made that point while he was coaching SL. DerMarr asked to try out for another team. So Isiah granted his wish. Not to say you are wrong about Thomas not resigning DeMarr but you missed/or kept out key factors involve in the decision.

I didn't leave it out. I never knew he asked to workout for another team.

I do recall Isiah reccommending him to Denver however.
