Great trade for the Clips but I wonder whether Sterling is going to give out all those contracts now. Brand, Miller & Olowkandi all will have to be very close to the max, and they'd still have some money left for Odom, Magette and then Q next year I think...

Clipps still not going anywhere!! As for the east, you can add another legit small foward in that list>>>>

the si article says the clippers originally refused to deal miles for miller, but said they had a done deal with odom and the #8 for miller as long as the clipps took butler. then at the last second after it seemed it was a done deal, the clipps picked wilcox and botched the trade. I think the clipps gm botched the deal intentionally knowing he could get miller later on for cheaper. he hyped miles up more by refusing to trade him and the pick for miller, but would offer odom and the pick knowing that he would later offer miles to the cavs once they got desperate to move miller. So here instead of moving miles and the pick for miller they move only miles for miller. i don't think the clipps gm ever intended to give up odom or the pick, his plan was to build up miles by making him seem untouchable then make paxson think he's getting a deal in being allowed to acquire miles in the deal. All's i can say is i wouldn't wanna play poker against this guy (LAC's GM Don't know his name)

I disagree. I think we are about to enter a new era where the max contract is an exception not the rule. Look at Davis resigning to the Hornets. Lesson learned: Don't hold out. Get your money now, because it won't be there later.
