Just saw on the TNT halftime show that Minnesota and Boston have completed a 7player trade.

Minnesota traded: Wally, Olowokandi, Dwayne Jones
Boston traded: Ricky Davis, Marcus Banks, Mark Blount, and Justin Reed


Interesting trade to say the least. Seems to me like Boston gave up a ton and I know Wally's contract isn't very small so I'm wondering what the hell Danny Ainge was thinking here. A precursor to future trades maybe?

nice trade for the wolves, Ricky davis gives them some athleticism, and marcus banks gives them some speed at PG. Justin reed is not a bad young player either. For boston, both pierce and Wally play the same position...

I just don't get this.

So what does this mean? They don't have a small fwd now. Minnesota is gonna have KG play small fwd? Eddie Griffin is the pf? Blount center?Ricky is a shooting guard. Marcus Banks is a nice player though.....but what about Troy, Jaric, and Carter?

Why does Boston want Wally? They have Pierce.......Pierce is not a shooting guard.

I don't get it.

There might be a GM who is on the same crappiness level as Isiah and that is Mr. Danny Ainge.

Yeah the more I think about it the more I think that this trade helps out the wolves more than the celtics, i dont understand why the celtics made this trade unless getting rid of blounts contract warrants taking on czerbiak's which is shorter but larger.

I really don't know what Danny Ainge was thinking. This obviously wasn't a salary dump because Wally makes a ton of money. This obviously wasn't about the Celtics getting back talent because Ricky Davis is probably a better player then Wally. So what exactly did the Celtics achieve in this trade?

Wally Z is good.

Both teams made out good. Wolves get an athletic scoring guard and a point who'll pressure the ball. C's get a great shooter/scorer in Wally Z and move the mistake they made in signing Blount.

we as fans should wish Zeke had the wit to move Crawford or Q and offload James for Wally Z plus capspace.

oh I just found out that theres a first round pick involved that goes to boston, THATS why they made this trade, but they have to give some second rounders to minny

i think it's a #1 from minny to boston and two #2's from boston to minny.

not looking at the dollars, davis and blount help minny more than kandi and wally. more athletic and better defensively.

ainge is the omar minaya of the nba - dickau, veal, and now wally. i'm calling al sharpton.

Currently he is 50 frm 2 40 from 3 80 from the line. Find another player in the league doing that.

How has Wally been consistent for some time? His #s are all over the place, take a look at his last 5 years.

you must be kidding me.

missing from your "analysis" is his overall fg% which has been 48% or better in every year except for the one where he was injured. He has shot 50% in 4 of those 5 years. He is shooting 50% this year. He has s hot better than 80% every year. He has averaged 15 ppg or better 4 of the last 5. The 1 season he didn't - the injury season.

posting his 3pt % numbers which overall are great as a sign he isn't consistent is lame.

wally does nothing for a team without 2 or 3 other pieces in place. boston still needs a big man if wally is going to be that helpful. what is boston going to do with pierce? i thought they were rebuilding and trying to shed salary. wally doesn't help them do that, it's just a swap of two smaller contracts for one big one.

minny does get a starting center and an athletic sg which will help them defensively. but gave up a #1.

this is probably a lateral move as neither team will benefit that greatly from it.
