Lorenzen Wright + Michael Dickerson
for
Latrell Sprewell + 2003 1st round pick

Knicks- get a good young center who has great ability to get to the hoop. Wright is the best part of the trade. Dickerson is a good player he isnt spectacular but solid. Houston is running the show and Dickerson should allow him to get more shots and allow McDyess to get significant touches. The trade balances out the team.

Memphis- Get rid of their 2 or their longest contracts. West wants to build a championship team from the ground up. Wright has 3 years left and Dickerson has 5 years keft. They both have decent contracts but West wants to sign some big free agents within the next few years.

Honestly Id rather have a number one pick than Wright or Dickerson. Lorenzen Wright isnt going to bring us a championship. However the potential of getting a superstar who could give us a title is more important to me than being a second round playoof team rather than a 1st round playoff team. Its not a bad deal but id rather save the number one pick unless we are getting someone like Andre Miller or Baron Davis.

What if it was the 2nd rounder we got from Denver instead.

I'd do it anyway, Lorenzen Wright is exactly the sort of banger this knicks team needs. I'm not all that crazy about Dickerson though but Lorenzen would be the key to this trade anyway. Can they even trade Dickerson though since he signed that extension last season? Doesn't he have some BYC issues or something?

Seems too much like we'd be giving up our best player so the Grizz will be better off? In other words, the Grizz "Gets rid of their 2 or their longest contracts"... like we really need that? What about our hopes to build a champ team? Ouch!
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

Believe me it worth it. Youve never seen Lorenzen Wright play.

I simply have to agree, Lorenzen is a late bloomer but he was an awesome center in the beginning of last season before he injured himself. No he's not an injury risk, this kid is an inside presence who would complement Dice perfectly.

Does he have a shooting touch? If so I'd pull the trigger on this deal right now...

Actually, I have, I just would prefer to tweak the players involved. In other words, I'd like to keep Spree here. Would you trade anyone besides him in that deal?

I would, I think the combination of Dice and Wright would be perfect for the Knicks. If Memphis would want KT + ? for Wright + ? it would still be a good deal.
