his latest refusal to go to SAC might suggest that to be the case...

NY trades Antonio Davis' expiring contract, David Lee, Trevor Ariza, SA's #1 & a future pick
NY gets Ron Artest & Austin Croshere

C - Curry / JJ / Butler
PF - Frye / Mo T / Croshere
SF - Artest / Woods
SG - Q. Rich / Nate
PG - Marbury / Crawford
IR - Penny / Malik

yes or no?

no chance of that happening, unless they are thinking about rebuilding and getting rid of jermaine o'neal

Yes... as a fan. Personally I'm sick of the sissy play and Ron will go ballistic on guys. It will truly be entertaining, and yes, his defense and scoring will provide immediate dividends.

As a GM no way would I do this. Ron is incapable of dealing with distractions and him coming to NY is a recipe for total disaster. It wouldnt be a matter of if, rather when IMO he implodes.

Now on the 5% chance that he doesnt I would go for it. Call it Isiah's swan song. A healthy and motivated Artest is one of the few things that can turn around this season IMO.

Whether this deal actually is in the works or not, I must disagree with MS. Artest is not playing right now, so why would exchanging his empty locker with ADs make a difference? If they accept cap room for Artest, they will still get into the playoffs with JO, Jackson, Tinsley, Sarunas, Granger. If they get a younun as weel like Nate or Lee that would be an added bonus. Plus the huge cap space for next year if they dump Croshere.
Some men see things as they are and ask why. I dream things that never were and ask why not?

ur probably right... a 3rd team would have to be involved... how about this:

NY trades AD, Lee, Ariza, SA's pick & cash
NY gets Artest & Croshere

IND trades Artest & Croshere
IND gets Jalen Rose, Lee, SA's pick & TOR's protected pick

TOR trades Jalen Rose & TOR's protected 1st rd. pick
TOR gets AD, Ariza & cash

I don't think a NY-IND straight up switch would ever happen, but a 3-way with Sactown is a real possibility.

Given them Qich and Nate. NO picks.

Free Cable to Donnie Walsh for life!

Im not sure I want the nutjob on the team. Sure we suck to day, am bored, dispondent, and morally upset with Isiah, but we really need the "mentally irregular" to our collection of misfits?

This team will resemble the wizard of oz!

Eddie needs a heart

Reezy needs courage

Ron Ron needs a brain

Marbs needs a smile

Larry needs a bladder

Craw needs pubic hair

Qich needs a back

Keep Toto away from QDog!

Kendra is the wicked witch

Nate is a munchkin

and Dolan is the Wiz! Cuz nobody, I mean nobody beats the Wiz!

i considered that, but i don't think there's any fits there because SAC doesn't have any big longterm deals that they want to unload.

they took back deals equal to Webber's in the Webber deal. Kenny Thomas/Brian Skinner/Corliss all have big deals. if Sacto is interested in getting under the cap anytime soon, we could certainly help.

whether or not we want to, I believe Isiah came out and said he had no interest. given that Isiah wanted to suspend Artest during one of his playoff runs with the Pacers, I think he knows Ron all to well.

true. Don't know what the oganization thinks of Skinner, KThomas and Corliss though. If you lose those three and think Bonzi and Peja are gone by the end of the season, the team all of a sudden has cap space either 1 or 2 years earlier than they thought and would accelerate the "rebuild". Bibby and Miller are good blocks to build around, and Shareef is OK at the 3/4 but the team needs depth bad. Nate, Ariza, and cap space may do the trick (or something else).

If this drama drags on till the trade deadline, IND will have to cut their own throats to rid themselves of Artest.

Funny thing is, after the near-trade with Sac, Peja probably doesn't want to play for them anymore- especially since he found out about it when everyone else did.

We play Sac tonight, so that just works in our favor.

Go Knicks!!!!
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

i think they're happy w/Kenny Thomas... he's been playing great for them... i always liked him as a player... he can do alot... i think he had a triple double the other night for them.

Corliss & Skinner i think would be candidates for filler i guess... try this on for size:

NY trades Penny, Lee, Ariza, SA's pick
NY gets Artest & Croshere

IND trades Artest, Croshere & protected #1
IND gets Peja, Corliss & Skinner

SAC trades Peja, Skinner & Corliss
SAC gets Penny, Lee, Ariza, SA's pick & IND's pick

can we even trade the pick before the draft? just wondering as we're sending our pick this year & possibly next and I thought there was something in the CBA preventing teams from doing there...

They report that the Kings just signed off on it so it's happening.

Now we can move on with our basketball lives.
