SAS mentioned that Detroit is having discussion with Orlando about moving Darko. The rumor was Arroyo + Darko = Cato + ? (pick or Nelson?) They probably want to create more cap space with Ben Wallace up for contract extension.

How about we offer Dumars the following? :

David Lee
Nate Robinson
Antonio Davis

for

Lindsey Hunter
Dale Davis
Carlos Arroyo
Darko Milicic

Arroyo’s A/TO ratio is 3.53, much better than that of Steph or Craw. He’s not a great scorer, but is a true PG who plays defense.
Milicic is improving and he’s playing with more heart. He played well in the Euro Champ last yr, and what stood out was his solid defense/shot-blocking/and good inside moves. He’s 7-1 and is still 20 yrs old and has incredible potential. Milicic’s per 48 min BLK is 5.76 as opposed to Curry 1.67 and Frye 1.49.

I like Lee a lot. And I’m a fan of Nate. But I’d take Arroyo and Milicic over these two. Yes, we're taking on more $$$ but we are getting great talent. Then during the off-season, Isiah can look for a SF to sign with MLE. I wouldn’t worry about resigning Ariza/Butler.

NEW YORK
Arroyo / Crawford / Hunter
Marbury / Crawford
Woods / Q
Frye / Mo / DD
Curry / Milicic / JJ

Butler, Rose, Ariza

DETROIT
Billups / Nate / Acker
Hamilton / Evans
Prince / Delfino / Lee
Rasheed / Dyess / Maxiell
Wallace / AD

Thoughts?

Will LB play Darko? Considering the weak interior defense/shot-blocking we have, I think Darko will have huge impact on defense. He's a good help defender, and his BB IQ is high.

I watched a taped game between Isreal & Serbia in the Euro Champ last fall. He only played in the 2nd half but he was very impressive, in fact I remember him being the driving force of a huge run that led to the blow out win.

He also played well during the preseason games. I think it was Rip who was talking highly of his hard work and improvement.

Big men take time to develop, and with his limited mins, it's hard to see how good he is or how good he can be. He's got great talent. This guy can play good D and he can alter opponents shots with his presence NOW. He needs to get stronger and work on his rebounding and post moves, but remember, he's only 20.

he's a backup who plays 13mpg. comparing his A/TO ratio to steph's is totally without merit.

LB was not fond of either Arroyo or Darko. I doubt very much he would want them UNLESS he see's the potential and will play them.

Pistons were a championship caliber team. Those two, if traded here would not be in such a scenario.

I wouldn't mind if we got Mo Evans with Arroyo in a trade...we have enough young big men.

With that trade are we trying to rereate the 94-95 Pacers front line? Dale davis, Antonio davis....What is Rik Smits doing nowadays?
