RIGHT NOW:
ad + mo taylor + david lee + trevor ariza

for

kvh + erick dampier + josh howard

OR THIS SUMMER:

mo taylor + david lee + trevor ariza

for

erick dampier + josh howard

saves dallas a TON TON TON of money in the dampier deal (approx $82 mil with luxury tax) so the price would be josh howard.

I like Lee too much to be able to ever tolerate looking at Dampier in a Knick uniform.

Josh Howard is very very good, but he's certainly not a complete player at SF. I don't know, it's taking back a LOT to get a player who will never play in an all-star game.

I also don't think Dallas will break up their squad now. Maybe over the summer if they have a disappointing playoff run.

I like howard but not at the expense of taking on the league's biggest overpaid bum Dampier. He can't even start over Diop!

this is what happens when you trade away all your assets and all you're left with are expiring contracts

Curry, Frye, Lee, Crawford, Nate Robinson don't count as assets? Just because we don't want to trade them doesn't mean they aren't assets.

the only players who would get us a borderline allstar or a star on the decline are Curry & Frye and I wouldn't trade them. Unless it was for the #1 overall pick in a great draft

so that means they are assets, yes? believe me, we have assets. The Knicks are one of the only teams in the league that could put together a realistic package for Garnett. I don't want KG, but that's saying something that we COULD get him.

I would do this deal in a second but I don't think Dallas would. It saves them money but hurts their chances to win now. Cuban's never been looking to dump contracts at the expense of winning. Minny (Wally) and Seattle (Rashard) have good SFs and may be in the salary dumping mode as the trade deadline approaches.

Pietrus and Mike Miller are better targets for the 2/3

I agree that they're good targets and their GMs might dump them for expiring contracts if we took on a bad contract. I'm not sure they're better targets than Wally and Rashard, though.

oh man, I would love either one of those guys. I don't think we can get them though. Miller would be the perfect three for this team.

I have been proposing that trade since they signed Foyal to that stupid deal and realized its killing them. I said it last year. I said it this year. I thought it was a GREAT alternative to signing a POS like Jerome James. We needed a center and while Foyal is essentially Narz x2 we get what I considered (and still do) an excellent prospect at the 2/3 in Pietrus.

As for Mike Miller I think he's very available. He's coming off the bench and has like 4 more years AFTER this one. Plus he gets banged up a lot but he's still young so I think Memphis considers this for an expiring deal

Miller and Wright for Davis and Trevor... something like that

If we were doing a deal with Dallas, I wouldn't want to bring back Dampier. Maybe trade Lee and for Howard even up or throw in that San Antonio pick. It would be nice to have a real small forward. However, I doubt Dalas wants to deal Howard. He's a good fit there.

AD + Rose + Ariza = roughly 21mm

for

Mike Miller + Eddie Jones = roughly 21mm

saves Memphis a ton of long term money because like Fish said Miller is owed a lot of money and years and Jones has another year left after this one.

I rather have Mike Miller over Piertus because he's less of a project. We have too many projects but don't get me wrong I love Piertus and also wanted him last year. At least with Miller we get a clear cut shooter whereas Piertus is still raw.
