This is kind of a tongue-in-cheek poll, referencing Bill Simmons' comment that "most" Knick "fans do not know" that the Bulls have the right to trade draft picks with the us next year. Of course, this survey is likely going to be HIGHLY lopsided, but I figured I'd throw it out there anyway...so... Who knows that we might have to trade 1st round draft picks with the Bulls in 2007?
Of course I knew that the Knicks might have to switch picks w/the Bulls in 2007! Berman, Lawrence & ilsefan remind us every day!
Draft picks? What are those? Ain't my draft pick...Next year? Who cares...Pass the Kool-Aide!
Thank you Bill Simmons! Your infinite wisdom which has allowed me to become aware of this travesty!
I abstain from this poll because it's a biased piece of nonsense.

Very good poll President Eisenhower.

To all outside critics of the New York Knicks (we can criticize them cuz we're family): F off and die!

I know the Bulls have the option to swap picks with us. I'm also 90% sure that we will have a better record than the Bulls next season so it won't be an issue.

How do you figure? They potentially have 2 lottery picks next year and $20 million in cap room to help improve their team next year. What do we have to help improve us? Hope?

Chicago has had 2 potential lottery picks and $20 million in cap almost every year over the last 5.

We're playing better, they are playing worse. Part of the reason they have 2 potential lottery picks next year is that they are a lottery team. The 2k6 draft is weak and the Bulls have many problems, not least of which is replacing Eddy Curry. Also, the free agent crop is thin, so that cap room may be sitting around.

We're, what, 3 games worse than them right now after being without Curry for 11 games and working in 7 new players to the rotation? I think it's safe to say the Knicks are getting better and have a chance to keep on improving as they learn each others games and get improvement from their rookies. Chicago, meanwhile, has serious issues with no post pressence, Ben Gordon is unhappy, Tyson Chandler is severely overpaid and they're doing what teams always do under Scott Skiles - get sick of Scott Skiles. Sure, teams eventually get sick of Larry Brown, but he traditionally has a three year honeymoon period.

I think it's a fair bet that the Knicks will have a better record than the Bulls next season. Obviously, it's a huge risk on Isiah's part and you could argue a reckless one. But if we're better than the Bulls it's moot. And I think there's a pretty good chance we'll be better than the Bulls.

I don't know if that's really a false or stupid statement. Of course WE all know about the option to swap picks and owing Phoenix another pick for the Marbury trade. But most fans don't read/post to message boards, or discuss ad nauseum the status of the team, the cap, expiring contracts, etc.

For the regular fan on the street, the normal conduit for thier Knicks news is Berman and Isola, and we all know how reliable they can be.

NY sports fans in general are usually quite knowledgeable about the goings on in their league and about their teams in particular. But there have been so many machinations with the Knicks and draft picks over the past few years, that it wouldn't surprise me if a majority of fans missed the info in the paper regarding a trade detail like that, or more likely, read about it and forgot. It's not hammered home everyday, except on boards like this one.

My guess is he ran into Sarah Jessica Parker at some party and she claimed to be a big Knicks fan and said Isiah was doing a good job and then Bill Simmons was like, "but did you know Isiah gave Chicago the option to swap picks in 2007?!??!?! did you? DID YOU?!?!?!?!?"

and she was probably like, "Dude, you are mentally unstable."

and he was probably like, "AHA! All Knicks fans are stupid, just like I thought, I need to go write a column about this one."
