If the Knicks sign Doleac at center, is he going to be any better than former Knick Chris Dudley was at center?

I'd hope so....Doleac can at least contribute on the offensive end.

Dudley wasnt bad defensively and was a hard worker, he was just over paid, really a bad contract.

Dont act like Dudley is a cancer, without him this team wouldnt have made it to the finals - Ewing the "man" was sitting on the sidelines and without a serviceable center this team was going nowhere. Remember Camby wasnt playing the 5 at theat point. He did his job, he helped us win - he isnt here now. Lets not worry about him. Doleac seems like he could do an ok Job and I would rather have a body at the 5 then some PF trying to showboat as a center. Kurt Thomas is not a center, Marcus Camby is not a center. If this team is going to win, they need to solve that problem.

He is a hard worker granted, and I really admire him, having to go through all those diabetic treatments, and still persevering...but he is a scrub. He is an unathletic guy, who has some ability, and is overmatched facing almost every other center in the league. 'nuff said...

This team meaning the Knicks, not the current incarnation of them SORRY if you needed the date to figure out when they went to the finals, I know it was w while ago. The only point was, he helped the Knicks he didnt kill them and he was a hard worker - that is a lot more then you can say about some of the players on Knicks 2001-02, and he isnt on the team anymore so there is no reason to get on his case. Its not like he is Shaq man, you cant expect a whole lot out of him - but he gave all he could and you cant deny that.

wHOEVER thinks Dudley is decent must be smoking something. That guy was a total scrub. Foul proned and no offense. Teams would double-teamed the opposing best player where whoever defended Dudley just forgot about him. At least Doleac went to a fundamentally sound school like Utah and possesses a lethal 15 foot jump shot. Another thing Doleac can do is the Pick-n-roll.

Why is this comparison even necessary? Dudley was a BUM on the Knicks! When he wasn't fouling out in record time, he was getting dunked on. Let's give Doleac a chance to make a better name for himself than what that overpaid DUDley did. Plus, Doleac will be signing for the 1.4M exception, which is a hell of a lot cheaper.

I truly believe he'll do much better than what DUDley did....
Travis Knight is doing better than DUDley did too. Nuff Said.
