Like the trades but rather let the contracts expire and the money off the books. Dont mess with this team. Let them play together like this till the end of the season.

is this year that important to you briggs...to take back ratliff?

i'm not opposed to the mike james idea.

the patterson deal? no, and i will smack you across the face if you propose it again.

let him opt out and we use the MLE on him.

I like the trade but I think we need to use the rest of this year to really evaluate the players we have before we start going nuts again.

I'd rather get younger players with more upside. This might be plan D or closer to plan P in the alphabet.

I'm not mad at this, but here are my issues:

If we get another pick I'd rather keep it, even if it is Detroits.

Adding Mke James (who I like alot) means we basically have 4 PG's, no starting 2 (forgetting Q exists), and no starting 3. I do not like that at all. This makes us more talented overall, but with all most of the talent in guys who play the same position.

RP and Theo would be great here, RP especially, Theo will get hurt, its in his contract.

Mike james can opt out this off season.
If anything, we need a pure backup point. James is a good shooter.
Ratclliff?
Rube is nice, but a rapest.

I want to keep the team together, at least till much closer to the deadline, I'd like to give Q a chance to make good.

why does PHX need Trevor again? They already have his UCLA mate, Dijon - who cant shoot. they have Diaw and JJ who are much better. Why do they need trevor again?

The only thing I want is more draft picks.

i like the 1st trade... no need to trade the pick & Ariza for Mike James tho... not when Nate & Jamal have been playing the way they have.

i agree, i like defensive abilites of patterson and ratliff. but, you really think portland would give up ratliff, patterson, and a 1st, albeit a late one, for just salary relief? its a stretch, but you may need to send them ariza(after working on resigning him) as well to make that deal.

hey im one of nate's biggest fans, but im thinking back to the mentality of winning now--thats how the Knicks always operated in the 90s and I believe its the right way to play if you have even a remote shot. You play to win the game:>)

making nate a 4th guard--sitting q to get him healthy because hes obviously not and bringing in a two way guard like sjames with no big salary commitment would be keen.

a late 1st rounder for about $30 million in cap savings, & another $30 million in luxury tax savings? i think they'd jump out of their shoes to make that deal... but chances are Dolan wouldn't want to take on all that added money.

if you were using Nate as a piece of a bigger deal, i would definitely be keen on bringing Mike James in to take his place... they play a similar style game... but otherwise, all that would do is cut into Nate's playing time, which i don't want to do right now... this team needs to grow together & gel right now... unless you're making a big trade to bring in a key piece to make us a title contender, then i think staying the course is our best course of action.

Ruben Patterson can take over Trevor Ariza's role if you want to use Ariza & Nate as pieces of a bigger deal to get ourselves a star calibre SF.

Bottom line, if we could get James and Patterson, this team would become scary. Those guys are PERFECT for this team. lets say we take on ratliff

If you go this line up

C-Curry
F-Davis
F Patterson
G James
G Marbury
6th man Crawford
C Frye
CF Taylor
F Lee
injury/FT/specialty players
nate Ratliff Q

we can easily match up with the Pistons

i just can't agree to making Nate into a 10 mpg type player... i want him getting big minutes while this team is still gelling & growing so he can work on his game & become a more polished player... he won't have that opportunity w/Mike James playing in front of him... that roster still doesn't challenge the Pistons, Heat or Spurs in my eyes... we would still need a legitimate star calibre SF who can create matchup problems in our favor... Ruben Patterson is a role player, not a guy that i want to see getting starter's minutes on this team... i'd much rather see David Lee continue to develop his skills starting at the 3 as well this year.

you can add Ratliff & Patterson for Penny & some cash in all likelihood... why give away a guy like Ariza for a player like James when we have a very similar type player here in Nate Robinson that Isiah drafted & wants to develop? this team is not going to challenge for a title this year unless you make a major trade for a stud player, & that would take giving up all the young guys... i want to see this team have a chance to grow together first... just my take.

Nate Robinson, in his wildest wet dreams couldnt play at the level of Mike James right now. Ruben Patterson is light years ahead of David Lee and of course he is starter material. Both guys are in their vet primes, you cant compare rookies to these guys, its two different levels of players.
At the end of the day, if we had both of these guys for a few years each with what we have now+ we must find a big who scraps like tony davis in the future, wed be good for the next 3 years. Good as in were good enough to compete for everything.
