- on 5 game winning streak. chemistry and trust. coach is showing more trust in them. they're looking to the bench less (at lb). they're using their bball instinct more and more.

- he was lost and unsure b/c coming off the bench he didn't want to step on anybody toes. he was suprised when he came off the bench b/c he thought he did well in preseason. after the first few off the bench, he felt good again as coach says he'll still get starter minutes.

- as a go to guy? it all depends on matchups and coach has faith in him taking the last shot. as for last night, with josh howard on him, he took a fadeaway b/c he saw dirk coming over.

- on the team not having a "head"? do they have a pg on the team? he's not sure they have a quintessential pg but stephon has done a good job of knowing when to score or pass. they don't have a pass first type of guy but they do have players that can score and set up others as well.

- it's great playing with steph b/c him and steph are interchangeable and play well off each other.

- on frye, nate, and lee? he loves them. frye is rock solid and nate enthuses the whole team. you can pencil in 15/8 for frye every night.

- on jerome james? they've been getting on jerome and he's getting in early and on the bike getting in shape and thinks he's gonna help them down the line.

- on defense? he thinks have come a long way but they realize that when they play a big guy like dirk or lebron, it's 1 on 5 as there's alot of help.

- as 6th man of the year? he feels good that the garden is behind him for that.

- he wants to be a better all around player. he wants to keep attacking the basket and get to the ft line b/c that's what all great playres do. he wants to gain 10/15 lbs this summer.

- lb & isiah told him to be aggressive on both ends and rebound more and he's taken the rebounding thing to heart.

- on making the playoffs? they can do it. the suns game was a springboard to turn the corner. they're starting to see what they can be.

- vs. toronto and atlanta - SAS said don't lose these games and he replies "no, we won't".

If they do, I'm getting the guilletine. I apologize for my spelling.

I think it's obvious that they are trying, b/c the man to man is actually alright. It's that a lot of them just seem confused in transition, and on help. Crawford himself just needs to do a better job getting around screens and put in a better effort. He's got the quickness.

- it's great playing with steph b/c him and steph are interchangeable and play well off each other.

I thought this was obvious from day 1. Jamal just didn't know how to play and Steph didn't play defense.

haha I love the last part! great recap!

I don't believe Crawford when he says he's going to put on weight in the summer. He said that last year!

I like Craw..one of the Knicks I'd love to hang out with! Then again Steph might by you a car and a nice suit

I like Crawford. It started with Herb first giving him the ball in that Suns game last season and LB has continued it. He is a true playmaker. Seeing him on the boards though is whats really magical.

Only downer is the TO's.

I dont beleive Jerome James when he says that he'll ever be anything but a 7 foot lamp post.

do you honestly beleive that crawford is a PG? becuse to me it becomes more and more apparent to me each night that his natural position is SG.

He is a true 6th man combo. Max him out giving him minutes at both.

The thing is that to me we always had this kind of output with Steph and JC, but LB just hadn't realized it yet. Last year Steph and JC were good for nearly 40ppg. They are at about 34ppg on the year, but recently they've been back up to last years output. Letting them play their game, but under more control is all we really needed from them. In addition we have a MUCH better overall team than last year. The scary thing is that we still haven't seen the best of this team yet.

All of us who never gave up on this squad can take pride in being able to see the talent even tho the team looked awful.

Craw is a nice guy. Bright, soft spoken.. I saw him and nate play at a local park this summer... with Shaun Kemp(drunk), Will Conroy, and other Huskies playing too. One thing that jumps out about Jamal, up close is his quickness and willingness to dish. He's great in his role now. And shouldn't think of himself as anything other than a guard (or combo guard). Thanks for the update.

they said he gained somewhere like 15 lbs of muscle this offseason. he's noticeably bigger than last year.

really? i just don't see it. He just doesn't have the skeleton to put on a lot of muscle like kobe or even Houston. He could probably build up like Ray Allen though.

i love crawford, in part because as a person and player i can relate to him as a skinny guy in a game where muscle really matters. i won't try to guess whether he's put on weight or not, but it's really refreshing to see him hitting the boards hard this season. could be because he's worked on his strength training, or learning techniques, or just working harder. it's not all about size, look at nate

Nice recap. Crawford is one of those guys who just needed time and now patience is paying dividends. He's a much better player than he was last season. His play has more than justified the trade and hia contract.
