Paul Pierce says he would consider a trade to a (contender) well im guessing the knicks will be one in 2 years if he plays with marbs.

I think the knicks should go all out for a Paul Pierce on the trade deadline, he's younger than ray allen, he is remarkably shooting a tad under 50 percent. I would trade anyone except curry or frye for him. e.g package jamal, Q rich, lee, taylor and some picks. for pierce and a bad contract like mark blount. This is a good trade for boston and the knicks get their superstar player to take them to the playoffs
and retain their future front court curry and frye

Losing has Pierce thinking of a trade

If the Celtics don’t turn their dismal season around, Paul Pierce can picture himself in another uniform before the Feb. 23 trade deadline.

And he wouldn’t mind winding up with a contender.

“It’s something I’d give a lot of thought to,” Pierce said before scoring 32 points in last night’s 104-102 Celtics’ loss to the Mavericks at TD Banknorth Garden.

Statistically, Pierce is having his best season.

“But I’d rather have a season like this when we’re winning,” he said.

“A career is defined by winning games and championships.”

Pierce, 28, and in his eighth season, said he feels he’s running out of time. “I’m not getting any younger,” Pierce said. “(A trade) is something I’d give a lot of thought to.”

Pierce said he might lobby for a trade himself or it could be instigated by Celtics executive director of basketball operations Danny Ainge.

Pierce entered last night’s game averaging 26.3 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists. He’s shooting just under 50 percent.

Some teams would consider Pierce just what they needed in order to make a deep playoff run.

the article says he'd consider a trade to a contender... a 4 game winning streak doesn't make us a contender... let's calm down... we're still a game & a half out of last place... why would PP want to come here? & more importantly, why would Danny Ainge want to trade him to a division rival?

I can think of many reasons why he would want to come here. When he says he wants to come to a contender, I think he means a team tat has a shot. There are only 3 or 4 contenders in the league, I don't think he meant it that literally. He could make us a contender.

Its funny the emotional reasons that guys give for not wanting a great player. If you can get a deal for pierce that is fair or close to fair, you do it, he is a special talent in the league, he plays big in big games, and turns it up in the crunch. We need that.

huh? when did i say i didn't want PP? the article says he wants to come to a contender... i'm pretty sure by that he probably means a team like Dallas, where he could be the final piece to a championship puzzle... the Knicks are a team in rebuild mode & they're developing their young guys... what star player who wants to win a title is going to come here? get real... it's not gonna happen... & even if he does want to come here, Ainge would never trade him here, so why bother discussing it?
