YOUR su york knicks...

- your celebrities of choice...ethan hawke. it's funny b/c he has season tickets already but somehow made his way to the first row. quick, somebody get the usher.

- during intros...a new tradition has started as every time nate gets introduced, a soul train line forms and nate does a dance through it, hi-fiving everyone along the way.

- alot more people than i anticipated b/c of the giants game. not packed mind you, and a seat of blue and green seats up top but still more than i thought. 2 wins and we're the HOTTEST TICKET IN TOWN BABY!!! and the crowd was jacked throughout. very nice.

- i came to the game today actually feeling confident that we were going to win. i wasn't sipping the koolaid but just watching how we're in phase 2 and going up against a team that doesn't play defense, i thought we had a good chance and didn't waiver one bit during the game.

- not ONCE all day did they make any reference to the giants game. no score update or anything. ummm, maybe b/c they were losing throughout? tim thomas + football helmet + shoulder pads + big blue jersey = fugazy.

- as i see marbury penetrate at will and feed curry for 3 dunks in the 1st, followed by the sonics draining 3's like layups, i tell myself that we're gonna see a DEFENSIVE battle today. 35 points in the first quarter? yikes.

- frye goes 3 for 3 from the field and 4 for 4 from the line before we run ONE SINGLE play for him. what does he do when we do give him the ball? he just spins baseline and dunks. this guy is good. too bad he's bipolar b/c for all his GREATNESS offensively, he STINKS defensively. the comparison to h20 is valid. catch, shoot, quick release, effortless, and nothing but net.

- on gardenvision, they ask steph what does he watch as soon as he wakes up in the morning? a. espn, b. espn2, or c. msgnetwork. the answer?....c. msgnetwork. what a shill. then they ask malik rose what his favorite football team is. the choices - a. eagles, b. jets, c. giants. the answer? a. eagles (b/c he's from philly). on cue, the crowd booos. what happens immediately after the question? he puts malik into the game. timing lb...timing.

- at halftime, we go to the lobby and watch the giants...err, i mean the panthers game on tv. panthers kick a field goal and take a 10-0 lead going into the half. HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!!!

- umm, since when did nate robinson become...ray allen? his 3 point shot is on point as of late. when nate took that airball 3 with 6 on the clock, lb looked at him, held up 6 fingers and SCREAMED "SIX....SIX". nate looked at him and put his head down. too funny. he's getting alot of minutes b/c we don't have a sg and he gives you a lot of good and alot of bad. you have to live with it but he always gives you energy and hustle. i think lb LOVES him but if we had anything close to a legitimate sg, nate would be used in spurts. which leads me to q1...

- props to trevor for having two solid games in a row after the "delusional" comments. nothing spectacular but VERY solid. oh, by the way, he LED the team in rebounds with 7.

- when hakee-MO-lajuwon scores, they play the steve miller band soundbite: "some people call me maurice"...and we heard ALOT of it today. WTF is going on here? mo is becoming a dependable enforcer type off the bench? cash out your IRA's, head to a fallout shelter and get some canned foods b/c the end of days are near...

- right before the david lee jumper, they have LL Cool J come up on the screen to pump the crowd up. they used the same clip for the suns game...and it was LOUD. funny thing, it was JUST AS LOUD today. knicks fans rule. and of course the roof explodes as lee drains it like he's big shot rob.

- curry from the line...ICE
- trevor from the line...ICE
- nate from the line...ICE

- steph's playing like an MVP candidate over the last 3 games. philosophically, i still am pro trade-marbury, but damn, as a player, he's been pretty damn good since jan 1. there was a brief stretch there where he wasn't even thinking about passing but that would be major nitpicking on my end. 10+ assists the past 4 games. not too shabby.

- and make no mistake about it, even with steph's great play and a settled rotation, the REAL reason we're playing better lately is eddy curry. his mere presence changes the ENTIRE complexion of the game as the other team have to respect his presence offensively. his minutes are being monitored as he's staying in the 30 range but those late ft's are impressive and he's getting easy...EASY baskets. he's demanding double/triple teams (as is mo) and he's starting to pass out of it. not quick enough sometimes but he's learning. at the end of the day, when all the i's are dotted and t's are crossed, we are only going to go as far as eddy takes us.

- so in conclusion, 3 games, 3 wins. so we are OFFICIALLY in phase 2: "settle down". i'm not doing backflips yet as there are still major problems. we play ZERO defense and we are still VERY weak rebounding wise. we don't have a true sg and over the long run, it will hurt us. crawford is not a starting sg as he is a much more effective player as the pg. i'm not sure if we can get one this year or if q1 somehow comes back and shows some life, so we may have to make due with what we have. luckily, not every team can drain 3's like pheonix and seattle. we won both of those and the one team that can't do it, we blew out. two TOUGH games coming up with a road game in cleveland and come right back the next day at home vs. dallas. i would like to win both but would settle for one. i am not scared of cleveland (since hughes is out) and i think we have a shot. LET'S GO KNICKS.

knicks are tied for 2nd in the league in rebounding; 17th defensively, but 2nd offensively.

Thanks.

Are there any updates on Frye's knee/ankle. Larry mentioned in the postgame that he got banged up when he collided with Nate.

umm, since when did nate robinson become...ray allen?
He was solid from there in college and he's in the top 5 right now in the NBA. If NR can drill that open 3 at a 40% he just went from nice role player to weapon.

I was wondering why NR wasn't shooting more from the outside at the beginning of the season. I guess he just had to get used to the NBA 3 range and to understand he ain't jumpin' over these guys too often.

I like how he has explored his long range game, he is so strong he can release the three very quickly without losing accuracy. It makes him a lot more dangerous, and opens up the court for him to drive more effectively.
