Sports Illustrated - New Orleans point guard Chris Paul left the Hornets' game against Portland on Friday night with a torn ligament in his right thumb and will miss at least two weeks.

Paul grabbed his right thumb and walked toward the Hornets bench after a basket by Portland's Juan Dixon with 11:24 left in the third quarter.

What does this do to Channing's chances? IMO Chris Paul has been absolutely phenomenal this year. Almost Jason Kidd-like in his assist and rebounding numbers (especially for a 6,0 guard). Injury is pretty much the only chance Channing has to get the ROY. Can he blow him away in the extra 2 weeks he has?

Some men see things as they are and ask why. I dream things that never were and ask why not?

I think Frye has just as good of a chance than any other rookie to win the ROY, especially if he can stay injury free and plays at constant high level of play.

Frye has got to be in 2nd place.

2 weeks wont change much though.

If Frye gets the 36.2 minutes per game that Paul has, he has a shot to make it interesting. Especially if he is utilized as the goto man in the front court.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

Just the fact that Frye is being mentioned in the ROY talks (despite Paul being the runaway favorite) is good enough for me.
I watch hardly any college ball, watched a few games last March, but that was it. I'm just relieved he isn't the bust that so many people had claimed he would be going into the draft.

Frye has bouts of inconsistancy and a few DNPs early on.

Its a long season. But its nice we have a good one!

Paul will still runaway with ROY. That team was supposed to be dreadful, but, they're winning some games, and he's putting up some unbelieveable numbers.
