that is not a bad core briggs, but do you really like Josh Boone? I have soured on him a bit. Hasn't seem to have gotten any better than his first year there...
Very similiar to the Christ Taft situation.
I don't think the Warriors are upset they have Taft, he's played well every time they have called on him. I think Gray and Boone are going to be very solid NBA players. Of course we want BPA, the hardest thing to get is a big. The Pheonix Suns reloaded on wings through trade and signings[unfortunate that we spent our money on fatso] and look how good they did. IF we can get Mike James for 4 years 22mm--im going to doubt we can get a better guard at pick 29 or even if we can move up tp 16-17, or atleast a guy who wont be as good as James is right now for years. But Davis is gone, taylor has 1 year left on his contract fatso is not reliable and we are capped out. With Eddy Curry a guy who gets hurt a bit to much, I think if we can, we should go big if its reasonable. There are several candidates who are draft eligible who are 6-9 + who can be found in lower section of draft or if we can move up a tad. I just think the way we are salaried structured, a big could make more sense and look for pro guards
I dont think the Warriors are upset they have him either but I was comparing the college career of himself and Josh Boone since they are very similar. Both had excellent freshman years and then only played well for half of their sophmore year. The similiarties are eery in that respect.
Not really similar. Chris Taft was failing out of school and had a falling out with his coach mid way through the year. He went from an elite level prospect to a second round pick because of his work ethic and maturity. That doesnt take away his physical presence [6-11 260] or the skills he possess's. If Chris can grow up while playing on that team, he has already shown he can play NBA level basketball in small spurts. If he can grow on both, the Warriors have a steal.
Josh doesnt have Chris Taft's body, and it is disconcerting that his rebounding has been sub par since mid-way through last year, but he's a much different type kid. He is an honor student who says he will get his degree before leaving uconn--which might mean you wont even se him next year or that he'll finish up in the summer?? Right now both Armstrong and Boone are lower level 1st round picks, not lottery status. Of course, we are going to have a late pick, so these are the type of bigs that you keep more of an eye on. Both have their different types of potential, but I prefer Armstrong long term. Boone on the other hand, imho, will have nice nbA success at some point as well. Couldnt go wrong with either at 29. there are other bigs like justin Williams Yemi Nicholson, chris daniels among other who are close to 7 footers who play at smaller schools who also have draft prospects. but when push comes to shove, I would likely stay with a player from an elite schoolif all other things are about equal. Stats are very tough to go by sometimes. At this point of the year last year channing frye was playing dreadful as a senior and was prospected for round 2. Ended up quite differently.
