Trade talk:

NYK trade: Allan Houston, Lavar Postell (sign and trade), Fut. first rounder
NYK recieve: Baron Davis, Zydranas Illgauskas

NOH trade: Baron Davis, Jerome Moiso
NOH recieve: Andre Miller

CC trade: Andre Miller, Zydranas Illgauskas
CC recieve: Allan Houston, Lavar Postell, Jerome Moiso, Fut. first rounder

Now, this trade may seem a little unbalanced, but give me a chance. I know none of us are stupid, so we all know why the Knicks do this. The Hornets do this because they are going to lose Davis whether they like it or not, and Andre is arguably a better point guard than Davis. Moiso can somewhat fill the hole left at center by Iggy, not that Iggy really ever filled that hole being on IR as often as he was. What really makes this work is the fact that the Cavs want to trade Andre. He is a phenomenal PG, but when your the Cav's I guess you gotta worry about putting the a**es in the seats as well as winning. They aren't winning with Andre Miller, and they are going to pin their hopes on Wagner...The starting lineups look like this:

NYK:
C-Illguaskas
PF-McDyess
SF-Anderson
SG-Sprewell
PG-Davis

NOH:
C-Campbell
PF-Brown
SF-Mashburn
SG-Wesley
PG-Miller

CC:
C-Diop?
PF-Moiso
SF-Murry
SG-Houston
PG-Wagner

Okay, I'm the first to admit that this will probably never happen, and it is a bit lopsided. It could be tweeked however, to make it more fair...I know the Cav's want to win the LeBran James sweepstakes, but they also want to move Iggy's horrible contract and dump Miller. They like Houston, he always drops big points on them...It could work. So what do you guys think? Have I gone retarded? Your thoughts...

I like your vision on this. It's not as unbalanced as you think, IMO. I'm thinking of a Baron & Spree Backcourt (the Heart & Fire duo, I love the sound of it!)....damn, that would be sick. Then the Dyess & Iggy combo up front... Oooo....

Try a few tweaks to test the flexibility of this trade. If you run them thru RealGM, post the #. A slight variety would also keep the mouths of the naysayers shut.

I would love for us to have a balanced team, especially one as Hardcore as what you propose.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

The Cavs don't want to max Miller out so why would the get a player Houston that is already Maxed out. Cavs are looking to move Miller at his current salary to avoid getting players that are maxed out. Cavs don't think any players out there are as good as Miller for the that price, which is holding up any deal.

They would take Houston because they would be getting rid of their one maxed out player, Illgauskas...HARDCOREKNICKFAN- thanks for the support...

I think the Knicks deal with the Clippers and Cavs is more likely. NO doesnt sound ready to trade Baron, least of all to the Knicks. Hoopsworld posted a rumor where the Knick send Houston to the Cavs, the Cavs send Illgauskus to the Knicks and Dre Miller to the Clips, and the Clips send Odom to the Knicks, and Wilcox to the Cavs. The Knicks may have to include cash, picks or a guy like Harrington to make the money work, but off all the deals I heard this one sounds most feasible. If I am any of those teams I make that trade.

Hey, I'm not arguing with that. Odom has a shot at becoming a superstar, and getting rid of Houston? Thats just icing on the cake...

That is a great deal The Knicks get Odoms and Z that works. That helps Knicks get bigger and they get players that play their respective positions. Allowing Spree to move back to the SG position.

That sounds good, especially since we get bigger. But who'd play the backcourt alongside Spree? Odom could bring the ball up, so would he play in the front or backcourt? Maybe I'd play Shandon @ the 3 and have Odom and Spree in the backcourt....
BTW at least 1 PG would have to be traded (IMO for a frontcourt player).

Here is a crazy deal that passed through my mind...

----------------------------------------------------------------------

ny trades- Ward, Eisely, AH, othella, knight (33 mil)
ny gets- odom, davis, pip (32 mil)

port trades- wells (sign and trade), davis, pip, randolph (29 + wells)
port gets- AH, zydrunas, Wilcox, ward, (33 mil)

cle trades- miller, zydrunas (15 mil)
cle gets- wells, randolph, easily, othella, knight (12 mil +wells)

Clippers trade- odom, wilcox (5 mil)
clippers get- miller (2.5 mil)
----------------------------------------------------------------------

with the contract of wells and fillers like steve kerr and others this trade could work numbers wise. Chances of this happening are very very very slim.

We would do it b/c we get rid of AH's contract and get odom. Although Davis and pip make an absurd amount of money, their contracts expire after this year. Davis could play center, then we could use our expection to sign a pg

This is the trade the clippers discussed earlier (odom/wilcox=miller) so i am assuming they would go through w/ it.

Clev would do this trade to get rid of zydrunas' contract and get good young players. Hoping that wells can be the next paul pierce w/ enough shots and minutes while getting a pg to help tutor wagner.

Portland would get a very good sg to play along side derek anderson in a smaller lineup(wallace needs a top shooter to free him up). They also get a center who when healthy, is a top 5 center in the nba. Wilcox is an top prospect.

I am feeling that trade! Well thought out, Killacross. I would do that deal too. That is just as good as Clyde's (Clyde- I ALWAYS support good and sensible points! )

The tough question is, which trade is better for the Knicks in the long run?

One word: BRAVO!!!!

Any deal that sends Houston away is my dream come true. But a trade that gives us a SPECTACULAR backcourt as Spree and Davis (Fire & Heat) is nothing but GENIUS.

Give this man a job in the Knicks PLEASE!!!

I've got a real feeling that a trade is brewing under the radar screen. All the talk about trading Spree is a smokescreen. If they can avoid it, the Knicks will retain Spree since he is virtually their only fast break, open court player.

I see a trade with the Nets coming down, with the Nts sending Van Horn and Kittles out. Allan Houston would fit perfectly because he's a deadly shooter who will get great looks with a Kidd led offense.

Knicks do this because 1)they realize that Houston will never lead them to the promised land, 2) realize that they way overpaid and went out way too long on Houston's contract, 3)acquire a good scoring, tall small forward who is a decent rebounder who replaces Houston's skill as an outside shooter, 4) enables Spree to move back to SG where he belongs, and 5) NY gets a very good, very up tempo SG in Kittles who can relieve Spree.

While I realize Van Horn will never meet the expectations that the Nets had origianlly hoped for, he would be a good fit for this Knick team if he can toughen up and not let the crowd get on his case.

Dude, I should. I should like, write a cover letter for it and present my case...I'd walk into the Garden, present my idea to Layden, and he'd just be sitting there, drool running down his face, a load sitting in his pants...dude is brain dead! LOL, actually he did pull off the Dice deal...who knows, maybe he actually sees this trade as an option...

Thats not going to happen. We dont want Houston coming back to kill us, very time we play the Nets, Plus, Van Horn reminds me of Charles Smith.
