You guys seem to know alot more with what goes with the team inside the organization. Do you guys know any information that you could share with us about the Jerome James suspension. The whole thing smells a bit fishy. Thanks alot in advance even if you can't tell us anything.

I hear there's a clause in his contract that says his endorsments from KFC go up by 1000% if he gets traded to the Nuggets. So he demanded to be traded. Hence the suspension.

And one can only imagine how much the man can consume when he puts his heart in it.

yeah, they had a 10am practice on new year's day, JJ showed up late and apparently a little hung over. it seems like an excuse to bench the guy, but maybe they're trying to make a point.

this was the worst move of Zeke's Knicks career. in the Malik trade we got picks (Lee and one more), in the Mo T trade, we got a solid PF who can score. JJ is a waste of everyone's time and money. I hope he never dons a Knicks jersey again.

Ahh, ok. Thanks for clearing that up Martin. I was looking all over for a full explanation and couldn't find one. I guess LB and/or Isiah is really trying to make a point with Jerome.

they should just suspend him without pay until he gets into shape. It's the best way to make him "earn" his money - we might suffer cap/luxury tax wise, but if the guy is that lazy he doesn't deserve to get paid.

Basically what martin said...

What an idiot. You're under the spotlight already then you go and do that. Oh well, I have no complaints.

I wish they'd say "Flu-like symptoms" which is baseball-talk for hungover.

the players union will be on this like bees on honey. I dont have privvy to what went on, but as a long time follower of nBA basketball, Im sure Jerome was not the first guy to come to work hungover. Atleast he showed up--if I remember right AI seemed to think practice wasnt needed.
while it would be nice to somehow get out of this JJ mess, there is a fine line of psing off the players union and the players themselves. Would guys not want to come here afraid of a mistake? The Knicks had EVERY right NOT to pay Jerome when he showed up out of shape--they let it go--its ok to take a stand here, but I think they went overboard--but thats just the Knicks.

Well he could have shown up still drunk. Practice was early right? I know I didn't go to bed until 6 AM on New Year's Eve and I'm just your average white guy. Imagine being in the NBA? They must have some crazy parties! I wouldn't be surprised if JJ showed up still drunk and started some ****. The union can't fight that.

Who was the ABA player who used to play games drunk and did well? I can't recall his name at the moment.

Ferguson Jenkins through a perfect game on lSD and coke so I imagine more than a few guys have been hammered while in practice games--the guys are young.

Roy Tarpley was a very good NBA player who played drunk a lot and it really didnt show much. Common life--sometimes it happens. Its when its habitual--thats a real problem

Marvin Barnes?

Best drug story is Doc Ellis who finished with the yankees, but when was with the Pirates in the early 1970's he would once in a while chill out on a non pitching day with a hit of LSD and hang out.

He was chilling one day tripping and he got the call that he was starting! Whaddaya gonna do, say your sick? When your not? Say your tripping? Naw, just do it, get out early and keep your contract!

Doc Pitches a no hitter! He said he really got into it and was able to concentrate.

Better living thru chemistry!

And it wasn't Barnes, tho that's a great guess and God only knows what he was on. I'll have to look into it a little further.
