11/23 to 12/16: 33.0 mpg
12/17 to 12/30: 23.3 mpg

It's puzzling because it's not like he played poorly and deserved to have his minutes cut and he's better than the PFs playing ahead of him (AD and Taylor).

Yeah, I am puzzled about this, AD is hurt and Taylor is doing well on offense, but he gets stupid after awhile with his offensive fouls and not passing the ball, Rose is not a factor, so Frye really should get more time on the floor to work on his game and his confidence.

Defense, defense, defense, rebounding, rebounding, rebounding.

And passing up shots he should be taking.

And boxing out.

yeah, boxing out and rotating to open shooters. Marion got a huge rebound over Frye's back tonight. Frye should've had it with a box out. He needs to rotate out to the shooters. That's one thing Curry has done exceedingly better since his return: he's rotating, fighting over screens.

Larry buried Lee for a couple of months, and that worked out well. Not.

Larry came here not wanting to play the kids, and it still seems to bother him that he has to, even though they are some of the best players at their position.

Although it could work out in the long run, Larry was a poor fit to coach this team.

I'm sure Lee will not see floor time next game, even though he barely missed a shot.

Lee deservedly played the last 25 minutes at the four.

23 and 15 from him including some huge board work - something Frye isn't particularly adept at - in the OT.
the stop underrating David Lee movement 1. FIRE MIKE 2. HIRE MULLIN 3. PAY AVERY 4. FREE NATE!!!

But frye couldn't have been put in there at the 5 at any time for Curry?

Phoenix had Burke and then Jones playing center at the end, why would you help them out by putting middleweight Frye out there. Curry's girth had that Jerome Bettis effect on Phoenix front court once the game hit 55 minutes.

It was not about Fryes minutes, it was about going with a group and sticking with them, and getting curry in shape and building his confidence about his minutes.

Larry is building character. Frye is going to be just fine.

Defense, defense, defense, rebounding, rebounding, rebounding.

Doesn't explain why Mo Taylor is playing ahead of him. AD may be more defensive minded but at this stag in his career he doesn't do much on defense.

I'm talking about the whole game- and at the end when burke fouled out, larry wanted to sub woods in for curry- couldn't, and curry actually got a key block at the other end of the floor before he could be subbed out...

actually, Mo T has been very good and I have been suprised that AD and Rose were getting any playing time in front of him. Mo is playing VERY hard. He's still looking to shoot, but he's taking charges and working very hard on the ball. He picks up some fouls but most are a result of physical play, and especially off the bench thats a good thing.

That play works well maybe 2 out of 10 times when Mo draws the charge. The other times he's just standing there doing nothing hoping for charges and the player scores. Mo's playing better than expected and should definitely be playing ahead of AD, though (but not ahead of Frye).

perhaps b/c if he isn't scoring he isn't having much impact out there lately

I love it. Make the young kids angry and pining for some floor time. The real winners will work even harder. Frye has to get better at D or else it will always be a vet that beats him out.
I just hope that people will like me

I have no problem with Fryes recent cut in playing time. As of right now Frye is a shooter and doesnt add a whole lot of anythign else out there. I expect this from Frye and ANY OTHER rookie who plays the 4 or 5 position beucase these positions require rebounding and tough defense, 2 things that Frye hasn't been providing a whole lot of lately. This will make him work harder and when he'll bounce back even better because of this.

His minutes will increase later in the season. He did well, but needs to work on things to be a more complete player.

It's fine if that's the message he's giving Frye but he's picking the wrong players to provide the message. I'm not sure how playing Mo T--who grabs no rebounds and plays no defense except an occasional charge--ahead of him gives him a positive message. The last thing we want Frye thinking is "I have to play like Mo T to get more playing time."
