"Like Kennedy, ultimateknicks.com founders Martin and brother Andrew Cornman started their site as a hobby and have watched it grow rapidly. They try to tightly regulate the discourse.

"We will not allow kids to come in and say, 'I hate, I hate, I hate' and spew stupid stuff," Martin said. "We're fans. We actually want to discuss what's going on on the court."

One of those fans is Richard Sackett, a converted Celtics fan and Manhattan psychologist whose family ribs him mercilessly for his message board mania.

Sackett described his first visit as a revelation. "I thought, 'Oh, my God, I've met my brothers; these are all the guys who feel like I do,"' he said. "I have to self-diagnose. I'm definitely addicted to it."

Like all major sites, ultimateknicks.com has a worldwide reach."
