Larry is doing his thing and this team is going to get much better. Things are running course - we needed to get worse before we got better. It is just upsetting because we started the season and we were in every single game. We played incredible on the defensive end of the court and then everything seemed to fall apart. If we get some defensive guys in here, we'll start really putting some wins together. All of our rookies play with passion which is great to see.
Crawford, Nate, and Frye are perfect as a second unit. They bring intensity, scoring, speed, and a jumpstart off the bench.
Crawford has been improving. He's trying harder on defense (although he is still pretty bad), he's been crashing the boards, he has been getting into the lane, and he has been taking much better shots. Tonight in the 4th he really lost the game for us but I think he'll learn from it and continue to get better. I see him being the best 6th man in the league in a few years and possibly moving into a starting, all star role for this team. I think Larry is having the biggest impact on his game and he'll continue to mature and get better.
Marbury's body language pisses me off but I liked his comments and he had his best half of the season tonight in the first half. He got in the lane and was giving 100% effort on the defensive end.
If David Lee bulks up I think he's the perfect 4 to start next to Curry next season. The guy is a rebounding machine and does all the intangibles that will complement Curry's post game. Lee looks like he's got some Oakley in him.
We need a pass first, pesky defensive pg. Mike James fits the bill but can we get him? Could we trade Rose or Taylor for Watson?
We need a 3 badly. Shane Battier would be PERFECT for this team but he's not leaving Memphis. Could we pry Mike Miller away from them? He'd spread the defense and add a whole new offensive demension to this squad. I also think D Jones out of Duke who is getting limited mins there would be able to thrive here as well. He has the fundamental background and would give us defense.
We need a defensive 2. I would go hard after Pietrus but he's probably not available. I would be willing to give up Nate to get him.
On a different note, after watching the Heat-Pistons game last night, Ty Prince is the best 3 in the league in my opinion. He changes the game on defense and his offense is really coming along.
I wish we could just cut Q and Jerome James.
