Why not just do it already?

If isiah is holding out for a draft pick then that is just greedy. If anything isiah should be the one to give a draft pick at least a second rounder.

What is the plan right now? Even if its youth you still need a bridge for the youth to climb over. Jalen rose can be that guy at small fwd. I think the guy can stil play. Rose is a leader out there with ice in his veins.

Are the knicks trying to get mike James too?

Isiah should just make the jalen trade already. The knicks still got Davis to use on a very unlikely deadline deal.

you don't take on another 16M+ for the sake of doing it. You sit and demand James (if you think it helps) and a #1. James is almost nothing cause he is a 1-2 year rent. It's the pick that is important.

Explain why you would fire isiah for trading penny for a guy that is a similiar player but at least produce better than any current knick at the small fwd spot. Jalen's contract would still come off the books next season. Jalen is easier to trade to a contender why? Cuz he can actually still play.

Anyway uf isiah wants one of toronto's draft picks then trade marbury and another guy for jalen and mike James.

Well Marty.....

You'd think Isiah would know that.

But he's famous for adding salary for no particular reason (Taylor, Malik, James, etc, etc, etc.).

Basically Isiah sucks balls.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

are you crazy? jalen rose plays no d and is fried, the only reason we'd trade penny for rose is to get the draft pick. why should we give toronto cap space 1 season early for nothing? I think the reason the trade didnt go through is becuase NY wants cash back as well, witch just goes to show you how bad things are right now.

jalens conctract doesnt expire this year like pennys does, it expires after next season. also jalen plays worse d than ariza, trading penny for rose straight up would just be adding more salary for next to nothing, since rose really isnt all that good.

to take 17mm $ of of someone is worth their Denver pick and their 2006 2nd rounder.

if anything less, walk away--let them buyout Jalen for 16mm$ big ones next year, you figurre he would take 900,00 grand less in a buyout if he can get a vet minimum.


you see there has to be points of walking away. if we get a reasonable pick like 13-15 + 31 and lets say SA yields 27, we have the package to move up to a top 5-7 pick--and get a real piece


Its VERY important for isiah to negotiate a little harder and with more pateince. hes so spastic when he gets something on his mind, it leaves him open to poor negotiating.

isiah gave away an unprotcted pick--AND if we stink again next year possibly another-+ 2nd rounders for a player NO ONE was WILLINg to sign in FA, WOULD NOT take a DNA test CANNOT get insurance for his heart--atleast he could n0ot at the time--im not sure he has anyway AND whose team was willing to give Eddy 20mm to WALK away and RETIRE

so the bulls went from OFFERING EDDY CURRY 20mm to walk for nothing to Mike Sweetney possibly two lottery picks and two twos. the only thing i believe is that Isiah and the knicks through theyd make the playoffs this year--yeah, on surface when i heard the news I thought we could turn the corner and play well-but i still hated th terms of the deal EVEN though i thought they would play better. Its like almost anything in this world--you need a little insurance for down side possibilities


so if there is just no deal out there that makes sense--the next thing that makes sense is to let these FAT contracts expire and look at what transpires aftre the season.

either a VERY VERY goo deal for the knicks or take your lumps and try to improve from within.

NO PANIC deals

i would be happy with some lateral moves like q for kenny thomas if it can be done. q needs a darn good game or two here soon.

I'm on a pda so I can't check what I wrote as fast. I think I made it clear that jalens contract finished after next season.

Again people keep saying defense. Its not like the knicks are on point on offense. I think the whole defense wins championships thing has gotten into peoples head and just took a crap on the common sense part of the brain.

This is not isiahs mess but he now has to figure out how to make the team better. Defense is not only problem. Jalen is an offensive player that is an above average passer and ball handler. Dude can still score too. The knicks need that more than they need Bruce Bowen to come in and foul guys.

To me this is a stop gap move. Jalen is only on the books till next off season. Jalen is easier to trade next year than penny will be this year. I don't are how you lose.

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

I am watching the pacers and raptors game right now, and they said the sticking point in the deal is IT wanting Toront's unprotected first round pick..LOL.. the guy got balls..

I would do the trade for a toronto pick top 3 protected, and if they get a top 3 pick, then they would surrender the Denver pick to us... I would then take the denver pick and our pick from SA and try to move up, because this draft is not that deep with good players...

You know why I hate Larry brown? Cuz the geezer is stubborn **** sucker. The guy is worse than bloomberg with the double talk and propaganda he spews without a second thought.

Plus I hate how he came straight into this season with a plan to lose on purpose in order to force isiah to trade for players he wants. Brown know they will not fire him because brown is considered one of the best coaches ever.

I hate that he can get away with not having a starting line up or a rotation or at the very least a plan of attack. I hate how he can get away with saying that he is starting guys based on their home towns.

I love how he just kills marbs and then blames him for everything in the media. I love how frye is still on the bench. He's like the knicks second leading scorer.

you do realize that in your scenario we er dolan would be paying 17 million dollars for an "above average passer" right? even if it is for just one season, that isnt a good move since apparently dolan doesnt want us to trade exprings anymore, and even if he did we shouldnt be trading using expirings as trade bait if we are really rebuilding anyway. also I dont know about jalen being a leader, he didnt fit in browns plan in indy, and according to what people say, ( I cant say for sure myself since Ive only seen one raptors game this year) jalen rose right now is playing like he doesnt give a crap.

actually acquiring rose wouldnt really be throwing us further into cap hell, becuase the knicks dont have a chance to get under the cap until after jalen rose contracts expires which is inthe 07/08 off season anyway.
