Q: What do you think of the Knicks' future?

A: First of all, they are struggling now, but anybody who has ever taken over a bad situation knows that it takes time in order to get the chemistry right. I feel that the chemistry is not there. The shooting percentage, night in and night out, must improve. They have good young people and good veteran guys. [But] if they are going to make a move this year, you have to do it in January and February.

Q: Can Stephon Marbury fit in with what Larry Brown wants to do?

A: For anyone from the outside, it is easy to talk, but if your talk is going to have any kind of substance you have to be there on a daily basis. You have to see what is going on in practice. You have to see what is going on in the locker room. And also during the timeouts - especially when the game is on the line. He is a player with a lot of notoriety. Only then can you make a statement about a guy.

Pretty much what I said. Coach's know. there's a 10000 things going on. The media only reports what sells papers. And what sells? Controversy!!!!

Ok I'll bite. I agree fans don't know what's really happening because most of it happens our of sight. I also agree the writers main goal is to sell papers - not report facts.

On Marbury I'm mixed. He is certainly not THE problem. But he's part of it like everyone else - a bigger part because we need/expect more from him then from our role players and rookies.

But even if Marbury was playing great there would be lots of other holes.

You would think people would trust somoeone who most people in basketball call a great coach but I guess since he's not dissing the Knicks they take it with a grain of salt. People would rather bash Larry Brown becuase they think they know what is going on instead of trusting Larry Brown who he himself is widely known as one of the best basketball coaches in basketball. Just take a look at that link that Fish is always putting up about the NBA Coach and GM survey, I wish I could provide it but I don't remember it. I'll have to dig it up.

*Thats your cue Fish *

Instead of trusting Larry Brown and Hubie Brown people would rather believe the papers and all the crap that gets said on ESPN and whatever media outlet spouts off at the mouth about it, its really quite sad.

No we believe our eyes. It is awful watching this team, and if the best coach in basketball according to some can't fix it, we are gonna have a miserable basketball winter. That's all.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

This is a process. For the love of god, can us fans please let Larry Brown do this thing. The playoffs were a nice dream this year but fact is teams in Year 1 of Larry Brown always play poorly. Why can't some fans realize this and let him do his thing?

Well I don't read Hubie as you do at all. I think he sounds rather confident that Larry's coaching will eventually take hold but much less so that Marbury will work out.

But he's not taking much of a stand either way, I hardly see this as something to get excited about.
