"A source revealed (and another confirmed) things got mighty testy between Kobe and Odom moments after Bryant committed a critical turnover with about five seconds remaining on the game clock. Immediately, Kobe pinned the blame on Lamar for supposedly botching a pick-and-roll designed to stalemate the game with a 3-pointer." New York Post

"As the pair got closer to the Lakers' dressing room, Kobe became more uncouth and Odom, who squared off with the Heat's Gary Payton after Miami's Christmas Day win, answered in kind. That's when Kobe went after Odom. In doing so, he kicked over the lights and a chair holding the TV monitor. Kobe's security force of two quickly intervened and separated the pair." New York Post

"In the locker room they again exchanged heated words and challenges. The tension was so intense one of the security guys accompanied Odom to the back of the charter bus and sat nearby on the trip to the airport while the other sat in the front with Kobe, the last member of the Lakers to board." New York Post

"Several years ago, Bryant didn't like something Samaki Walker said after a game while they were on the bus and sucker-punched him from behind." New York Post.

I think they might deal him to keep Kobe happy ! Artest ??
Isiah Thomas will lead us back to the playoffs in 2006 !!!

This is a HUGE change from the press conference when Odom became a Laker and was calling Kobe, "Mr. Bryant".

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

artest doesn't fight people his own size. only tv cameras and little men in suits.

what a shame...there was a time when Kobe was my fsvorite player then all of a sudden he became a prick

Guns you are so right!! I have never liked Artest, even in his SJU days I thought he was a way overrated prima donna. I still love the fact that he ran into the stands in Detroit because his pride was rightfully injured from his public backing down from Big Ben after Artest took a BIG cheap-shot at him.

Then again, we could probably use some of THIS attitude:

“This being our home court, people come here and think it’s Hollywood and all sorts of stuff, so they think they’ll come down (the lane) and look pretty and shoot jump shots and dunk the ball and finger-roll the ball and do all sorts of cute stuff,” Bryant said. “And we’ve got to stop that.”

So how else does he plan on scoring? LOL

Youre kidding right? You wouldn't take Odom on this team? He's 6'10, 25-26years old, is capable of a triple-double on any given night. He moves the ball, (Brown said we don't have any ball movers) Can play point forward, makes players around him better, can score in the post and outside (mainly in the post, not a great shooter) and wiht his size and long arms can be an avove average defender.

And you say you don't want him? Rather stick with Ariza? How has the Lee experiment gone? Maybe we should get a 33 year old Jalen Rose, he's better than Odom right? OH, wait you said no more offense, so gets get uhhmmm Haskel from Timberwolves. He'll put us over the top, right?

^ You're missing the point.

Allow me to expand.

Odom is tempting.....but not at the expense of defense. Unfortunately, Isiah has built this team so much on offense and defensive slackers that bringing in anymore offensive talent would just make the top pour over so to speak.

We need to bring in defense and rebounding. Not more offense, no matter how tempting it is.

I understand what your saying but the wing positio is soooooo weak, it kills us offensively and defensively. How many times does Marbury or crawford penetrate, dish to the wing (to Rose or Ariza and throw up bricks.) This makes the paint congested because all defenses sag off our weak SF making it hard for Marbury, crawford adn Curry to get into the paint. Between ariza, Woods and Rose they are averaging a combined, 12 pts a game, which in it self is misleading becaue we have zero impact from the SF position.

Curious, just give me name or the type of player you would like to see?

See this is the misconception among Knick fans that kills me.

You think we're a SF away from contention.

And last year we were a Center away from contention.

Our problem is simple -- our players don't play hard, and they don't play defense or rebound.

The only guys that do any of that are Nate, Crawford, AD, and at times Frye and Lee.

This team is so ****ed up. Lamar Odom won't be the difference for us IMO b/c he's a complementary player, not a star. That would be fine if we had the type of chemistry and selflessness and intangibles that the Pistons do, but we're so far away from that it's sad.

I wouldn't care if we went 0-82 if we played our ****in guts out every night. That's all I ask as a fan. But that's not possible until this black cloud is lifted off this franchise. That all starts by getting rid of 2 bigheads -- Isiah and Stephon.

And you know, it's sad too, b/c I see a little Starks in Marbury every now and then. But he's too selfish to ever become a team player. You won't win with your PG subconciously looking to score first. And LB refuses to move him to SG (which I've advocated for MONTHS), for whatever reason.

So that's the way it is.

That's idiotic. Dude actually threw his elbow into the other guy's jaw and will now be suspended after everything is reviewed. Oak and enforcers like him always got away with what they were doing. Those guys were enforcers. Kobe is a fake tough guy. When he was punched in his grill by Chris Childs he stood there and didn't do anything until people were there to hold him back. The same thing happened with Reggie Miller some years ago. After a game they're arguing and as soon as someone comes to hold him back NOW he wants to act like 'let me at him let me at him'. That's the last thing we need on this team....a FAKE tough guy.

I couldn't be on Kobe's team, I would of checked his chin a long time ago, put him right on his ass. He is such a punk anyway.

Wait, so AD is an offensive player? Rose is an offensive player?

Odom would be good for our team because it would allow stephon to play more of a SG role since Odom would be bringing the ball up - I think it would solve a lot of problems (and he's a good rebounder)

Wait, so AD is an offensive player? Rose is an offensive player?

You KNOW youre an Isiah jocker when youre suggesting our "defense" is held strong by almighty MalikDavis, the 2-headed defensive beast.

I'm telling you, Isiah's making a HUGE mistake.

The same mistake Jerry West found out after last year. A team that can score alot of points will NEVER win.

NEVER.
