Anyone thats ever played sports and had a lower back injury or played with a guy thats gone through that knows how it takes away all your explosiveness. Watching Q reminds exactly of what Larry Johnson went through. You can see the quickness and the agility and the strength but he just cant get off the floor any more.

We got played (again)

Unless of course you think Nate Robinson was worth it. I think if he was we could have had that pick for cash straight up. Oh well... see above comment

hahaha, yea fish, he can't get off the ground anymore, because Q was very explosive, his lower back has taken that away, yes we probably did get hosed, I love nate, but you are right, we could of got that pick for cash most likely....

You have been quiet lately, where have you been?

Yeah I said something about Q after I saw him live in the pre-season and that I was really hoping Houston would come back(no pun intended). I was right I think.

The scary thing is how some people who shall remain nameless, BONN, thought that this trade was so lopsided the other way.

Does Isiah ever make a trade where he isn't hosed completely???

Marbury trade...Complete disaster
Crawford trade...Way overpaid and he looks clueless half the time
Mo T trade...Still no point to it
Rose trade...Rose is useless, Lee can't get off the inactive list and this years pick doesn't look like it'll be more than the 29th pick.
Curry trade...Could turn out to be one of the worst trades in the history of the NBA.

Throw in his free agent signings and how does this guy keep his job??? Anything Layden did, this guy is outdoing and then some.

You are on point except for the Curry trade. Still don't understand why that pick was lottery protected but getting Curry, I think will turn out to be a good trade. Think he will develop into a real offensive force soon.

Layden was worse if you can believe that. At least Isiah has drafted well when he isn't shipping them off. Layden drafted, Chenowith (Kansas) Wright (Arizona) Harvey, then traded Camby and nene for McDyess who was comming off major knee surgery. And don't forget all those Utah rejects he signed, Eisley, Anderson....Disgusting!

If I want to really look hard then I could find some. I dont want to look hard however. I cant get past that fact that we are 7-20, dont have a rotation and have guys like Lee sitting on the bench. It physically hurts to watch.

It's not that he's damaged goods, he cannot fit into Larry Brown's technical system..

ALso, he's better off with a legit pg. ex. Steve Nash in Phoenix or Andre Miller from their Clipper days

no.. he's damaged goods. Maybe it heals if you want to put a positive spin on it. I saw Q alot with the clippers and he was explosive around the rim. I only saw him a few times last year and he was chucking 3's. He's not the player he was a couple years ago physically.

I just think Curry is fat right now. Hopefully we get under his skin enough to put him on a serious program where he maintains a certain weight all the time and does a lot of strength training.

I disagree.

This deal, and Nazr/TT deal were atleast level-headed in that you can justify giving up what we did b/c we gained talent without giving up much cap space.

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

if he's hurt and his back is bad, why not just de-activate him and have him rehab? TJ Ford hurt his spine- sat out, rehabbed and healed up.

granted, different injury and maybe Q will be like larry- an effort type roll player- but this bad? He's got to be better than this healthy?

I can't believe people are still crying about this trade. I love having Frye as our full-time PF with Kurt's 8/8 on another team. I also love the heart and toughness of the player we drafted in the pick in that trade (Nate).

I can't believe that you're still under some delusion that KT would only take minutes away from Frye instead of the other big stiff's that are currently doing nothing but taking up space.

Sure, why have a 6'9 player with heart and toughness when you can have a 5'7 player with heart and toughness and a tiny brain to go with it. Only you would think that trading big for ridiculously small is a good thing in the NBA.

I liked the trade a lot then, and still don't think it was a bad idea. A declining, jump shooting PF with slow feet and a long contract for young SG with some ability and a early 20's pick? Made plenty of sense given the ridiculous amount of older PF's already on the roster and the size we added in the pipeline.

Unfortunately Kurt's minutes have been taken by a guy with even slower feet, no jumper and a guy that doesn't box out half the time rather than the high energy, active youngers on our roster.

It was really more about trading old for young.
