1. Nate plays with heart. You guys can say what you want about him but he plays
hard and is the only one that wears his pride like the Knicks of the '90s. He
single-handedly brought us back into this game with 4 straight clutch 3-pointers.
He's a keeper. Even if he's a career backup guard, he can be our Vinnie Johnson,
our catalyst.

2. WTF with QRich?! Has he shown up ONCE this year? 1-for-7 tonight?
Shooting 40% for the year? Why is he starting?

3. Our starting line up is a joke! Only one player, Steph, is a NBA quality starter.
AD, Q, JJ, and Ariza are all backup quality, and to have them all start, no wonder
we started the game down 10 pts! Of the four, 3 played less than 20 minutes. There
is something very telling about that.

4. WTF with our centers? Two seven footers combine for 11 whole points in a combined
29 minutes on the floor? Against KRISTIC?! Come on! What a disgrace!
They were like automatic turnovers!

5. Defense sux. There is always an open shooter on the opposing team. What is with that?
I thought if anything our defense would improve under LB. I don't see it. Once upon a time,
the Knicks could get stops. The DE-FENSE chant meant something. Now its a waste of breath.
Defense was the most discouraging aspect of this game.

If not for Nate, this game was a complete blow out, and a disgraceful showing.

AD, Q and JJ were starters on playoff teams last year. They certainly don't look the part though.

I agree the defense was horrendous. Isn't Larry Brown supposed to be one of the best defensive coaches ever?

Did you see any reason why they didn't feed Frye in the second half?

Frye didn't have many plays set up for him in the FIRST half. A few but not many. He got his points the same way he usually does. Off pick and rolls and offensive boards and from guards drawing attention and getting things opened up for Frye. The D tightened up on Frye in the 2nd half and therefore, less plays for him. He played a little stagnant in the 2nd half, and let his man hit a lot of open jumpers. He played great in the first half. Like I said, he has to be aggresive the entire game. Not just parts of it.

Nate, along with Antonio Davis, is the toughest player on our team, but he plays with his head up his ars. Plays with great energy and passion and it's too difficult not to love the guy, but he plays so dumb. Bad fouls, a couple bad shots. Gambles too much. Exactly what I said to djsunyc before the game.

Marbury did not deserve to get booed. He played hard, did mostly good things, and made a couple of mistakes. At least he's playing with some heart and consistency out there. Who gives a flying f' about his body language.

Curry played like shyat. If he can't learn to finish around the basket anytime soon, then I don't want him on the Knicks. He plays way too soft for a guy his size.

James and Richardson freaking blow. If we had Frye starting tonight along with maybe Nate, then we would have possibly won the game. I just don't understand why James plays at all. Richardson has sunk into an abyss. The offense is stagnant with them out there and Nate and Frye play harder anyway. Gross.

QRich is either unhealthy or hates being here. He is useless out there on the offensive end. As for D, he is no better.

Curry should be finishing better, but at least he is getting the position.

Marbury is the brunt of all that goes wrong for a reason. It is the way he reacts to it. It really is a shame. This was supposed to be the time of his life.

People talking about Frye not getting plays called for him... I think too much is made of that. It's not like football when you definitely call a running play to get two yards. In Basketball that usually only happens with seconds left in a quarter or half, when you decidedly get the ball to your go-to guy for the last shot.

But mostly in the NBA you run plays that yield multiple options, more like an NFL passing games, with multiple short and long patters with screens and cuts. In such cases it's really up to the PGs to act as quarterbacks and recognize the best opportunities. The better PGs do this intuitively.

Many of us think Steph is not a very intuitive PG. Sure, he's got a few pet moves that set up shooters with an occassional dump off. But in the matter of thinking quick and having good judgment in the majority of cases, or when the money is on the line.. nah, not very intuitive. Doesn't read the defense well, rarely goes long.

In the NFL comparison I'd say Steph is a QB who can scramble and rush, but his passing game is comprised primarily of a lateral game around the line of scrimmage, with an occasional toss back while running. He can run himself, and he passes to open guys, but it's rarely setting them up to advance or score. Not a lot of touchdown passes, rarely good time management, and never expect a rally with a hurry-up offense.

Not really the mind, intuition, will or skills set to be a quarterback, and certainly not a guy the team looks for to get them through.

He is the best player/leader on the team Killa. If his body language indicates he is giving up, the others would have all the more reason to play sloppy. Last night was a different case but I dont think its cool when this comes from the best player on your team. It shouldnt be condoned casue it can be detrimental.

About getting booed: He definately doesnt deserve it but it comes with the territory. Steph is one of my favorite Knicks along with Patrick Ewing. Even Ewing got booed. So did Mariano Rivera.
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

Ewing didn't deserve to get booed at any point in his career. That was a disgrace with how the media and fans treated him. Mariano never deserved it either. He could very well be entering the downswing of his career and every player has one. No player is a bad person for this. Mariano has been so great for us, and he blows some saves for finally entering the other side of the mountain? Please. Ewing, Steph, Marbury, Houston. These guys came to play every single day and were usually very good at least. Yet Sprewell was a God, who was more streaky than all of them and has a much worse than all of them? Please. We don't deserve these guys. I can only pray for Channing right now.
