a couple of things

1- the FIERCENESS of Mason, Starks, and Oakley... the current knicks should be forced to watch these guys seriously... in a game vs orlando they showed... mason came up hobbling.. and starks(while wearing a protective mask due to a broken nose) started screaming at mase and beating him in the chest screaming for him to shake it off, on some :SUCK IT UP MOTHER FUCKER, LETS GO¡¡¡¡ it was so awesome to see... the constant shoving matches... players would get into **** talking tussles so frequently especially oakley, stuff that would be a deff tech and big focus of the game now a days was not even mentioned by the announcers cuz it was so regular.. man i miss those days...

2- The Post Pass - what a lost art... the right post pass can give you a layup everytime.. or at least draw a foul... the knicks of the 90s had this **** down... our guys right now cant make a post pass for ****... its not just about getting the guy the ball at some point... there is a time to get it to him, and ap lace to get it to him like sometimes to the right of him sometimes to the right, maybe uphigh depending on how the defender is playing him... Harper, Rivers, Anthony, Childs, Ward... these guys could do that **** real good... our players suck at it... i have said this before but with curry and frye this is going to be key

3- the size of rookies - When ewing was a rookie.. he looked about half the size as he did his later years... and in shaqs rookie year(they showed shaq vs. ewing his rookie year game) Ewing was actually bigger than him¡¡¡ remember shaq was 21 and ewing about the samei think their rookie years... they both were deff a lot better than curry at that stage but not so much in skill, more so in effort and desire.. especially ewing.. he was a BEAST back then.. sooo competitive.. what heart.. he never gave up... Curry could take a lesson from that but it does leave hope cuz currys body is gunna keep developing we have to remember that he has thep otential to be a real beast, even Frye, he is gunne get stronger and be possibly a special player...

4- Charles Smith Sucked - But i always liked the guy, met him in person a few times and he was the nicest guy in the world.. i gave him a pass... but boy he fits right in along side tim thomas and Q Rich

5- Don Nelson HATED coaching our team - watching the game they showed with him on the bench was hilarious.. the guy looked like he wanted to shoot him self... so **** him!!!!!! grumpy old fat bastard

6 - Trades of 1996 - How many of u die hard Fans remember these funny ass trades... Charles Smith was traded with rookie Monty Williams to San Antonio, in exchange for J.R. Reid and Brad Lohaus. Ten days later, Herb Williams and Doug Christie were traded to Toronto for Willie Anderson and Victor Alexander. WOAH... BRAD LOHAUS¡¡¡¡ AHAHAHAHAHAHA... question,,, why were these trades made - - - was it to clear up cap space for houston and childs - if so Isiah should maybe take note, lol... bring in a few willie andersons if u have to, right this ship!!!!.... also i would like to see a transaction history of the knicks if anyone knows where to find one, im curious to some moves like.. how did we loose greg anthony - what happened to doc rivers - hubert davis, i cant remember where a lot of players dissapeared too.. would be interesting to find out

7- Anthony Mason was awesome - i love this guy, he was such an intangable player, keeping loose balls alive, his ball handling skills, toughness, rebounding.. just his swagger brought a whole nother demention to the knicks.. LJ also had intangables so i think it was a pretty even trade after all due to larrys clutch shots and performences-inspiration.. but man i;d love to have a player like mason on this team.. **** it.. in the whole LeAGUE.. i dont think there is anyone like mase left.. ben wallace isl ike concidered the toughest player in the league and the guy plays tough but he aint even as vicious as mason is when it comes to personality... man i miss the 90s

8 - Ewing was amazing... underapreciated.. nuff said.. the guy was a warrior and embodied everything the knicks stood for and dont stand for now

9- oakley hit people a lot and it was awesome

10 - the garden fans were just as hard on our team back in the glory days as they are now... in a game vs. the bulls in 94 or 95 when we had that kic ass team, we were down early and the fans started booing... we got it together and won the game, but our players shouldent be suprised.. the garden fans have always been real hard on the team, thats what will make it all the better when they actually WIN.. vcuz the love is greater then the hate when its all said and done.. but it should be expected and im dissapointedin isiah for sayin hes still learning what it takes to play in NY he should have done his damn homework

ok thats it, these games are awesome i wish i could have them all taped... the good old days... hopefully we will get it together and bring back some glory.. GO KNICKS!!!!!!

im watcing knicks vs heat 1996 right now... WOW we bullied the **** out of this team, that had KT on it in his miami days.. oakley mason and ewing were just shoving these guys around like a bunch of lil girls... they were scared of us... great moment ward hit a clutch 3 right in front of pat riley remember he never used ward and he burried his crappy ass heat team with a trey and then ewing picked him up over his shoulder.. nice moment.. oh and ewing had like 3 explosive dunks in a row i was great

too bad these knicks are nothign like the old ones....imiss the old days, Oakley was diving all over the place, starks was a good passer and ewing just dominated zo in that game
''We don't have the luxury to take anybody lightly,'' New York's Quentin Richardson said. ''We're not that good.''

Your life, your game, this year, your career,
it's the law,
Bad game, so what?
the game is made for the home courts,
from the home of Coney Isle,
you ARE Brook'nam's finest,

Marbs, Where you at? The whole city behind you!
Knicks, Where you at? The whole city behind you!

pre94, then yes..after 94, hell no. his body just deteriorated too quickly. If ewing could play like he did in the late 80s, in our playoff series in the 90s, then we def could have won a ring. he was so mobile, and all over the place early in his career. but, by the time we put a competitive team around him his knees were already breaking him down and he wasnt the same(more of a jumpshooter).

Willie Anderson, JR Reid, Lohaus etc. I think were all free agents and we definitely freed up a ton of money to sign Houston, Childs and trade for LJ. The Charles Smith trade was definitely a money dump/ player dump. He just wasn't working here anymore.

I actually think we got Willie Anderson on purpose. He was a 6'8 SG and had a good rep on D. We actually brought him in to help guard Jordan (we were very small at 2g with Starks/Davis etc). He was a good player at one time for San Antonio, but got injured, and once he was here, he of course sucked. He also was Shandon Anderson's older brother.
