Chandler Turning Deaf Ear To Boo-Birds
24th December, 2005 - 7:22 am
Chicago Tribune - Most NBA players are jeered on the road and cheered at home.

Not so lately for young Bulls forward Tyson Chandler, whose six-year, $63 million contract does not correspond with his meager production (4.6 points per game, 8.3 rebounds) thus far.

"Sometimes you just have to get yourself focused and tune other things out," Chandler said of the discerning United Center fans. "Fans come and they expect the same thing. When they don't get it, sometimes they react that way. That's not something I focus on."

Chandler did not see action until the second quarter Friday night against the Memphis Grizzlies . He had two points at intermission.

Chandler admitted the contract he signed last summer has added personal pressure to perform.

"It always adds a little pressure whenever the expectations grow. But mentally I have to get over that and get out there and just play my game," Chandler said. "If I do that, I will be fine for my team. For some reason I haven't been doing that

Curry drew the double teams in the post and left Tyson to freelance. Now... Tyson gets focused on. Just like we need Curry back to draw the doubles in the post and free Frye up to hit open J's... the Knicks really need Curry and need him to get in his groove for the Knicks to be winners.

Chandler is still a guy capable of 10 rebounds and 2 blocks per. What we are finding out is that he can only do it as the compliment, not as the focus. He still has value. He has to be paired next to the right person.

for example Memphis would surely put him in the front court next to Gasol. He'd excel as a help defender and weakside rebounder.
the stop underrating David Lee movement 1. FIRE MIKE 2. HIRE MULLIN 3. PAY AVERY 4. FREE NATE!!!

If they're looking for a salary dump, give them back AD.

AD + any 2 of Spurs #1 pick, Lee, Nate, Ariza, Butler
for
Chandler and Deng

OR

AD

for

Chandler + Duhon

Or we could try to get our 2006 pick back.

Chicago might not be willing to do a salary dump that improves our team because it means they'd be getting a lower draft pick from us, though.
