Isiah: "What's this protection stuff? You mean you can do that?!?"
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

Isiah: Draft? Lottery picks? Draft is a crapshoot. And then you draft guys and by time they good they are free agents.

Oh Isiah. How you spin me dizzy.

Isiah couldn't put protection on the Curry pick due to the protection on the final Marbury pick.

find another GM who has a track record like: Damon Stoudamire, Camby, Tmac, Ariza, Frye, Lee, Nate.

that's part of why it's so maddening he'd trade away picks, but you can't say the man doesn't know how to draft.

I would do the Jalen trade if we got the Denver pick. That pick would probably be about 16 or maybe 13. That's a good trade for us.

It's actually from the Post article.
But two league sources said that Garden owner James Dolan wants Knicks brass to be more "fiscally responsible." Dolan does not want to add much more to his already league-high payroll for this non-playoff team unless the acquisitions are difference-makers.

Rose has an extra year left on his contract, so it would cost Dolan $34 million extra in salary and luxury tax. While Rose, 32, can still score, scouts say he's one of the league's worst defenders.

One Knick decision-maker told The Post in November that it would be "crazy" to take Rose as is. A league official said the Knicks were still seeking more assets, including a first-round pick.

Sports Illustrated mentioned that the Knicks want $3 million thrown in — which would be the first time in recent memory the club has asked for cash.

Didn't Dolan also tighten up on the purse strings right before he booted Layden?

yup. good point. I think it's safe to say Isiah is on a tight leash now, where as recently as last trade deadline, he wasn't...

the 16th pick in the draft isnt worth 34mm $ more like 3mm now a top 3 pick and a 13 would be worth 34mm$ but that will NEVER happen

Actually the Knicks asked for and got cash in the Kurt + Dijon for Q + Nate deal
